My friend and I reserved a room at the agriturismo "It Palazzo dei Diavoli" outside of the Tuscan hill town Montepulciano. The property is situated in a beautiful valley between Montepulciano and another ancient hill town. Our room with a bath was lovely, clean and equipped with a table complete with an expresso machine, expresso and breakfast snacks. Teresa, the owner, is very gracious and helpful.
Because we are both hikers we loved being able to hike into Montepulciano at least once a day for lunch, wine tasting, shopping and sight seeing. We especially enjoyed the local Thursday market. We also spent a day hiking up to the other hill town where we picniced and wandered through the narrow streets.
We did have a car and made several trips to sights around Tuscany on
After two days, we asked if we could extend our 3 day stay into a full week. Teresa then moved us into a lovely apartment with a bedroom and living/kitchen area with a foldout couch. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything that you need to cook a wonderful Tuscan dinner.
I highly recommend Il Palazzo die Diavoli for it's charm, location and our new friend, Teresa. We both hope to return someday.
