“nice but needs proper mantainance”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

was here on business, including meals. Meals are great, breakfast is very good and varied. Halls ample and spacious. Also rooms ae spacious, but need proper mantainance: bathtub must heve been leaking for quite a while, as there was a rust sign whre water run. I closed the water, and all was fine: I wonder how come the room maids didn't notice for a long time. Bath tub officially with "jacuzzi" type jets, but one was not working. paint is peeling off from windows. a bit noisy if you sleep wiht open window, which in Italy would be a pleasure most of the time.

“Not a 3 star!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2012

This was the second hotel we stayed at on the AirTransat coach tour in August. This was the low point of the whole vacation. An 80s circa hotel left over from the 80s with no updates. One elevator only working, rooms were dingy and not clean (water damage on walls and floors, sunflower husks on floors), bathroom was yuck (moldy grout, cracked tiles, grimy shower head, slow draining sinks and showers). Air conditioning was not working, or very weak. Housekeeping was just as bad. Remade beds had footprints on the sheets, shower mat was used to wipe the bathroom floor and left in the shower stall to be reused! Breakfast staff was rude. They reprimanded guests who came down 30 min after breakfast was served to say they came down too late for eggs!?! When we complained to the tour guide, he said this is what we get for the hotel rating. He later confided with another vacationer that his feelings were hurt over the complaints! Otherwise the rest of the trip was OK. This is the worst hotel I haved stayed at and would never ever come again.

“Serious Need of Improvement”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2012

We stayed here June 11 & 12, 2012. We were on a group tour through Air Transat so did not have a choice of hotels. The only reason I gave this hotel 1 star is because each room had its own bathroom. The air conditioner did not work and we could not leave our window open as we were located down from an outdoor seating area. There were no extra pillows available nor any blankets (they said the hotel was full and there were no extras. I did get another pillow my 2nd night). The bathroom did not appear clean. When we arrived we found wrappers and a bar of soap in the shower from a previous guest. There was no fridge and no safe. The breakfast was ok, but I've had better - no fresh fruit, The dinners were ok, but they made us wait to have the salad until after we had our main course so everyone was really hungry.
To say the least, I was very disappointed in this hotel. Air Transat changed the original hotel to this one and said it was a 3 star. I have to wonder how they got a 3 star rating.

“Flophouse”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2012

As part of our Air Transat, Di Vinci tour, we were booked at this hotel for 2 long nights. We arrived to a long line of other bus tour guests arriving at the same time with 1 very small elevator to transport people and bags from the parking lot. The hall to our room reminded me of an old hospital but with peeling wallpaper trim. Our room had what the hotel said was a king-sized bed but was really a small queen. It was very small. The air conditioning did not work, the bathroom had 2 towels only and no kleenex (though I did get a box when I requested it at the front desk). Extra (hard as a rock) pillows were scarcer than hen's teeth. The food was okay. The staff really didn't do a good clean up after dinner as I found garbage on the table next morning from the night before. I didn't even turn on the t.v which was a 10 inch from the 80's. I don't think the hotel rooms had been renovated since the 60's or 70's.

Room Tip: Though I was at the front of the building next to the road, I did have a corner room and 2 windows...

“Disappointed after staying at Hotel Belvedere in New York City!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2012

We stayed here as part of an Air Transat tour group. The rooms varied greatly, some were slightly larger than the closet in our room!! Our room was very spacious but strangely layed out and the furniture was as others have posted strangely ecclectic!! It looked like something from the 70's at best!

Breakfast was O.K. (it was funny how they relocated the coffee and juice makers each morning)!

We had such a wonderful hotel the first couple days of our tour in Venice that this was indeed a disappointment! Apparently, they're not part of a chain because there was no comparison to the Belvedere in NYC!!

Dinner was very formal which we did not expect after seeing our rooms!! While gym shorts, hoodies, sweatpants and sneakers were allowed Men wearing Michael Jordan beach type shoes were not!! Women were OK, but not men!! We got the biggest laugh from this! The dinner food was excellent; however I felt badly for a couple in our group that ate "no pork" because it seemed no matter where we went they were served Mozzarella & tomatoes instead!!
I believe they finally asked for chicken and were given that here! The restaurant was one of the only good parts of this hotel besides the nice lobby and patio/bar area. There were many small children playing and running around in the bar so we were fortunate to be able to sit outside.

As I said, we were part of a tour and had no choice of hotels. Unless the price was very cheap I would choose a different hotel if booking for a return trip.

Elevators were not only slow, but very small taking forever to get luggage to rooms. AC not functioning; glad we traveled in May!

Front desk staff very unhelpful! All we wanted to do was call the Vodaphone store to get their hours of operation for the next day and they drew us a map of how to get to the store - this did little good at 10 p.m.!! Would not even look up the phone number for us! The restroom was hidden behind the front desk area in what looked like a closet next to an office.
