“Charming and well-kept”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2013

This small hotel and its companion, the DaVinci across the street, were home for a week for a group of us. Our room was small -- normal for Italy -- and there were about 8 inches between the 2 twin beds. A wardrobe, 2 nightstands, and a desk with a mini-frig offered basic storage. We could have used 2 -4 more drawers to be able to unpack for the week. The bathroom had a ship's shower -- small but adequate. Our hair dryer turned out to be a flexible hose with a diagonally-cut end and limited air flow. Other rooms had a regular dryer, and I wished I'd brought mine with me. Linens were changed daily, and the room was immaculate, as was the hotel.

Our tour scheduled breakfast at the hotel, and it was fine, although we were disappointed by the canned fruit. Several dinners were also scheduled there and -- while the last night's dinner was very good -- the other meals were average to sub-par. Some went out to eat in the town, and that was a better choice during the week.

Staff was lovely!

This is very convenient to the town and within a walk to the train station to Lucca and Pisa to the west and Florence to the east. Impressive shopping and restaurants are nearby.

I'd stay there again, but bring my hair dryer and eat out!

Great hotel for a reasonable price. Location was convenient to shopping , restaurants and the many local and close by attractions. Alex (registration/front desk) and rest of staff were courteous and helpful. Although, they were unable to waive one nights fee when we found it necessary to leave earlier than planned. Apparently the problem with changes are due to the fact we had used a booking agent for the room, had we booked directly with the hotel they would not have charged us for the change ( at least that is what we were told)..
Our room was comfortable with a balcony overlooking a garden. Breakfast were good with baked apples and croissants along with all the typical fare you find in Italy

We were pleasantly surprised to find our triple room so large and comfortable. The staff were exceptionally accommodating and helpful, The hotel is perfectly maintained with an excellent service. We had our bedsheets and towels changed everyday which was very nice indeed. The hotel was very central - only a two minute walk from the main shopping centre and we did manage to find parking in front of the hotel. The is also a free WiFi zone which is a rarity in Italy these days. We will definitely return to the same hotel for another pampered stay next time we return to Italy and hopefully all going well, will get a chance to try out the swimming pool next time. (It opened the heavens with thunder and lightening and the works when we were there in September).

The staff were sweet and friendly. Rooms basic but had the luxury of a fridge which was great for cold drinks. The whole hotel is superbly maintained and immaculately clean. Usual tiny shower (normal for Italy) but always hot and good pressure. Breakfast was a good continental but had hot bacon and scrambled eggs. There is a toaster if needed. It is tucked just a street away from the main road so was reasonably quiet. Parking was available outside but its not free. Metered zones everywhere. I think the hotel has parking, we didn't check it out as we were touring all day and only back at night when the metered parking is free. Internet is available for free in the lobby, the passcode is at Reception. There is a small supermarket about 200 yards away. A nice little coffee/snack bar 10 yards away and a really good restaurant beside that. A gentle 6 minute stroll on flat ground will take you to the town centre. Prices are reasonable compared to Florence. Do not pass by the Gelaterias. There are two train stations and trains are frequent. If you arrive by train it will be around a 10 minute walk in either direction. The town feels safe and friendly, we saw no trouble at all. My one regret was not going to the Termes, they look amazing. Please go to Montecatini Alto, the views are superb. I would really be happy to come back here, we had a really nice time.

This was our first visit to the hotel and found it very relaxing. Food very tasty and lots of choices. The bartender in the evening makes great coffee! Montecatini is a perfect destination, very handy for Florence, Pisa and Lucca. Would definitely stay here if we came back to the area.

Room Tip: There are some nice rooms with balconies on the second floor.

This was our second visit to the hotel and we weren't disappointed. All the staff are friendly and helpful and part of the reason why we returned to the hotel this year for our family holiday. We stayed B&B and the breakfast buffet is generous with a good selection of hot food, cereals, pastries and fruit. The hotel is a well situated and only a short 5 minute walk to the centre of Montecatini Terme where there is a good selection of shops, restaurants and a small super market. The hotel in fairness could do with the decor being updated but the rooms are exceptionally clean with fresh towels every day. We visited a few local towns like Montecatini Alto, Colle di Buggiano and Lucca - all very beautiful and certainly worth a visit.

Room Tip: On the two visits to this hotel with my wife and two children we stayed in room 128 which is a gener...

Had a great stay. The hotel is in a great location, not far from the town centre or the train station. Florence and Lucca are only a short distance by train. The food in the hotel was great and the staff were only too happy to help. There is a peaceful atmosphere in the hotel and it is very clean (bed linen, towels etc cleaned every day). They have a pool which was clean. The hotel overall was excellent.
