“Fantastic stay at the friendliest hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2014

Just back from a 10 day holiday at this beautiful hotel in Montecatini through Inghams. As a solo female traveller, I'm always a little anxious about what the accommodation will be like as well as the quality of the single rooms. I had nothing to worry about since I immediately felt so at home and safe there, and my room was lovely with the added bonus of a great balcony - which can be very hard to come by for single rooms! All the staff members were so helpful and friendly and couldn't do enough for you - this is true for the owners of the hotel (it is family-run), the receptionist, the waitresses/house-keeping staff and the night porter! Everyone always greeted me with a smile and had time to chat, which really made me feel so welcome. The service is of the highest standard and I loved the boutique style decor throughout the hotel. The food was good - breakfasts were continental and you had a choice of starters, main courses and desserts. Mediterraneo is also in a beautiful, quiet location right on the edge of the park but only a short walk away from the town centre including the train station and funicular to the beautiful Montecatini Alto. Its also only about a 5-10 minute walk to their sister hotel, Astoria where you can use the swimming pool. Montecatini is a lovely spa town with lots to see and do, and in a great central location for all the beautiful Tuscan sights.

We stayed for one week at this small hotel and had the most wonderful time. The service was of the highest standard, all members of the hotel staff were friendly and the rooms were spacious and clean (request a room on the top floor overlooking the park - it's a pefect view day or night and worth paying a little extra for). Nothing was too much trouble and the members of the reception team were extremely helpful in making bookings or recommendations for us.
The hotel is perfectly located on the edge of the park just a short walk from the town centre, the train station and the tram to Montecatini Alto (which is a delight during the day but also on an evening).
From Montecatini train station we took day trips to Lucca, Florence, Pisa and Viareggio and we hired a car to visit Sienna & San Gimignano. I would also recommend a day at the Grotto spa which is a real treat - the heated cave is fantastic.
Montecatini is a beautiful spa town with lots of character, very friendly people and lots of things going on from music to food to spas and fashion. This is my second trip and I will certainly be back for a third time and I will be booking Mediterraneo when I return!

Room Tip: Pay a little extra for a top floor room which overlooks the park.

We stayed one night at this hotel in Montecatini.
The service was above and beyond what we had experienced anywhere else in Italy.
The receptionist tried to locate an acquaintance for us and also help us locate the drop off for our car rental.
Breakfast was very good
The room was very large and over looked the park.

Room Tip: ask for garden view room

We stayed in this hotel for the first week in May and had a lovely holiday. It is an ideal base for visiting Florence, Pisa and Lucca on the train. You can also walk or take the funicular railway to montecatini alto from here. The hotel itself is quaint and a little quirky, I didn't quite get the decor in our bathroom but to be honest every slight niggle was more than made up for by the overwhelming helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. Breakfast was continental and the evening meal was well cooked and tasty, although the choice was limited. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it.

My husband and I just recently spent 4 nights in this wonderful hotel. The setting is beautiful, overlooking the park. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and very friendly. We had an amazing room overlooking the park with our own terrace. The bathroom was spacious and modern. We used the location as our base for exploring Tuscany. The town is beautiful as are the termes which we took advantage of. The train station is a 15 minute walk from the hotel with easy access to Florence and other destinations. We were able to park our car at the hotel as well. The hotel was very clean and the breakfast was delicious! We highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again!

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the park with a view of the mountains!

My husband and I stayed 3 nights in this hotel and would love to come back over and over again! All the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is located just in the entrance of the park where main termes are located, making it a magical scenery for an outside breakfast. Its located a few blocks away from the center and has private parking for the guests. The restaurant was also incredible with different choices for each meal. Our room was very comfortable and tidy. Do not hesitate to stay in this hotel if you are planning some days in Tuscany!

I am a repeat customer to this hotel. The hotel is situated on the outside of the park which makes it relaxing and quiet. The staff treats you like family. The food is awesome the hotel is clean. I couldn't find a complaint if I wanted to. The staff doesn't just speak English they understand your needs. I travel a lot through Europe this is by far one of the best, No. "The best hotels "I stay at with my family..
