“Excellent Customer Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2012

Stayed here for four nights during a walking tour of Tuscany. This was a quaint hotel just steps from the main square with shopping, restaurants, and thermal spas closeby. The room was a bit old and worn, but it was clean and the staff bent over backward to make our stay enjoyable.

Room Tip: Higher is better.

We stayed in this hotel for four nights as part of a tour with GoAhead travel. The location is excellent- right in the heart of town and you can walk everywhere. The town is beautiful. The staff is extremely helpful and very nice. Our room was a decent size and clean but very very worn- the furniture and drapes were dingy. The breakfast was poor. Limited choices, no fresh fruit (except prunes) and coffee and juice from machines. Some people on the tour had rooms facing the street which were very noisy every night for most of the night. Our room faced the rear roof deck and had a nice view but was noisy one night when some guests partied on the roof deck. Almost everyone in our group felt as we did. It is possible we were given the worst rooms because we were in a group or the hotel was busy. Our bathroom had been renovated in recent years and was nice but this was not the case with others in our group.

Room Tip: Don't take aroom facing the street or the rear roof balcony.

Minerva Palace is a great place to stay. Unfortunately we only stayed one night as we were on the Wonders Of Europe tour with Cosmos but we found the place just what we needed. The bus had to park some way from the hotel but it was situated right in the heart of town. Wi-fi was available but you have to pay quite a high fee for that, so we abstained. Also, we found the breakfast to be minimal and the room quite small. Still, a nice place to lay your head for a night.

I loved my room, large and had a balcony. On the 2nd floor, it was quiet and big enough for ten people, seriously, huge! I think it is hit or miss in Europe for rooms being of size.
The check in went smoothly, as was the check out. The tub was great.... the bed, like most hotels in Italy, was a very hard bed. Simple solution, stack pillows the length of the bed, and sleep on them. Works like a charm.
Nocholas was kind enough to make me some tea and I shared some cookies with him I found at Giovannis (just a block away from the hotel). Best place to eat would be the Ristorante Da Lorenzo. Have the Pasta with Tartufo (white or black mushroom). It is unreal! So good! ù

Room Tip: try the Da Lorenzo for pizza marghareta and the pasta tartufo. Skip dessert, get something from Giov...

Stayed here with a group. The hotel was lovely, very central, in the centre of the town. Very accessible to shops and restaurants. The staff were all very nice. I had a tiny, tiny room with a single bed in it on the 5th floor. It was the only hotel I have ever stayed in with just 1 single bed.
Only one downside with this hotel, no free WIFI. Had to pay for it. And then it kept cutting out.

The Hotel is accessible to most attractions and shopping at beautiful stores. We felt we were really in Italy. The room was neat and attractive as were the common areas. The food service is exceptional and the food staff very accomodating. The manager Giovanni Fabbrico was very kind and helpful with all necessary questions and needs. (parking, eating and more)

We were in the heart of the town. The daily breakfast buffet was nice. There were 22 in our group of ladies for spa week, a few complained of noise. Most were pleased. We used the terrace on the 4th floor for a sunset get together which was really nice.
Once we learned to pull up the shades, the room was quite nice. The staff was helpful and friendly.
