Good location, we arrived by train and it is only a short walk, maybe 5 mins, from the station. Shops and restaurants also very close, but hotel always seemed quiet with very little noise from either cars or other guests. One night were noisy family on next floor down but once we closed our door couldn't hear a thing. Rooms were a little small, but lovely balcony helped. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice and we ate dinner once in hotel, which was fine, but there was plenty of choice in the town as well. All the staff were very helpful and friendly and spoke excellent english.
We stayed just after easter and much of montecatini was shut! Good base for exploring round and we really enjoyed florence, lucca and pisa - all of which we went to by train (although an odd lack of late morning trains to lucca/pisa!). Highly recommend montecatini alto which we thought beautiful.
