Staff, especially Francesco, were delightful, helpful, fun. Food was fine. (The reviewer who said the bread was 'stale' has no idea of how Italians eat that bread with olive oil!) The main problem was noise. We were with a party from Cosmos/Archers & all those who had rooms in the front were bothered by a LOT of noise from bars over the road; one has a singer who repeats Elvis tunes at top volume until 12 each night. Once a week (though twice for us) the hotel has a 'piano bar' evening which is utterly invasive, and dreadful. It is not a piano at all, but electronic English music. It is held in the courtyard so one cannot escape the noise. I went to 4th floor & slept on a chair for two nights. Awful experience.
There is NO air con and daily we were given excuse after excuse, which we all realised were lies, nothing more. They simply did not want to turn the air con on in June, so we had stuffy rooms, could not open the window for the noise, and felt unrested and miserable. :(
