A very friendly hotel where the hotelstuff made the most to be the best support for our
first visit to Italy. They always took time to recommend some nice places to visit.
They were great with the kids aswell! Both funny and polite at the same time.
The hotel were nicely decorated with old funitures, we change our room once and got a more
modern room that was newly renovated. This room was super and had a high standard and
a nice view to the poolarea. This room was really great!
The poolarea very nice, so we spent a lot of time there enjoying the water and the service from the bar. You could order from the bar and the servants would bring it out to your sundbed.
City of Montecatini worth to explore. Lots of shops close by and several old spainstitutions that were nice to visit. We also took the old tram up to the mountain.

Stayed for two nights. Great location, great city(montecatini). Nice looking lobby and main floor, But...... The staff was borderline rude at times, as if we were inconveniencing them. Chiara was the only one who was always smiling and seemed to enjoy her job. Hats off to her! Breakfast buffet was not so good, eggs yuck! Fruit cocktail canned! Was that cereal? I understand most of the rooms have been remodeled, not ours. Our room was in desperate need of an upgrade, from the paint to the carpet to the noisy a/c unit. So much potential here, I would start with the front desk staff and finish up remodeling those rooms.

Very nice location next to a beautiful historical park, within walking to shopping and restaurants. Only disappointment was the reception staff. Everyone seemed so stressed and unhappy, even the guy who seemed to be the manager? (Chiara consistently was the only exception, and one other female whose name escapes me) Our Deluxe room, although grand in size, w/lg balcony overlooking pool, was obviously not upgraded yet. The hotel valet parking cost 25€? we thought was high, so you can buy daily street parking tix @ 8€ however, be prepared to get up early to put another day tix on your car. Breakfast was ok, again staff didn't make you feel very welcome. We chose not to have dinner there, as just trying to get to see a menu seemed like asking too much.
Martina & Ivana from the Thai Silk Spa were always cheerful, happy and accommodating, Spa facilities were very nice. A short drive away is The Funicolare (cable car) is a "must do" at sunset to the top of the Montecatini Alto. We enjoyed a great traditional Tuscan dinner at La Torre in the Piazza. We loved the town's driving proximity, 20 mins to Lucca, 40 to Florence. I would consider giving the hotel another try if ever visiting the area again. Hopefully, by then ALL of the rooms will be upgraded AND, all of the staff will be proud and happier to work in a beautiful Croce di Malta Hotel.

The room we stayed in was probably a suite and had certainly been recently remodeled when I saw some of the other rooms in our group. The room was lovely, very large with 2 separate bathrooms and a shower in between. Very clean and a lovely balcony. The breakfast buffet here was average at best and somewhat disappointing. What appeared to be a can of fruit cocktail constitited the fruit in the morning. Good wi-fi, good location to center of town. Be sure to take the Funocular to the top of the hill and explore that lovely town!
