“The night staff was creepy”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013

Stayed there one night, its really close to the train station and the price was just right for us, a really calm hotel, small and with a nice breakfast. The night staff was really creepy, when we arrived after visiting Venice to sleep, the only staff was an old man who kept on observing my passport and started asking weird questions, weird.

The hotel is well situated ,within a short walking distance to the Mestre train station , with excellent connections to Venice via both Bus and Train . The journey takes only a few minutes to reach Venice . The hotel is small but clean and comfortable . The staff were very friendly and also knowledgeable about Venice and things to do there . The prices offered very good value for money and the service offered was good . Good wi-fi available in the hotel . The bus/ tram into the centre of Mestre stop right outside the Hotel . Recommended

I stayed in Hotel Regit (via Cappuccina, Venice Mestre) and the experience was average. Though located close to the Mestre railway station, the location was not convenient and lot of public works were going on in that area with noise. The price was good (50 Euro/night) but didn’t include breakfast. The good point was the availability of free and strong WIFI in the room. Well, the amenities in the hotel are reasonable, being a 3 star hotel. The room was reasonably big (as we booked a triple room) neat, clean, and had all required amenities. There weren’t any restaurants nearby and the bar inside was closed by 10pm so we had to sleep starving. I checked with the reception guy about ordering a pizza but he said delivery will take 1 hour as restaurants are far away and mostly closed by that time. Next day morning, I just checked the items available for breakfast but realized that it is not at all worthy for the 10 euro they additionally charge per head. Hence, it was a good decision on my side not to choose breakfast. There is a good supermarket in the nearby street (just 5 minutes walking distance) that open early in morning and you get everything there relatively cheap including the breakfast items and hence nothing wrong in skipping the paid breakfast at this hotel.

We stayed here in May 2012; it was our 9th stop on our euro trip. We chose this hotel because of the price and the ease to go into Venice. We were traveling by train and this hotel was close to the station.

Although there is nothing by the hotel except a great pizza shop it was a lot cheaper to stay outside of Venice, and a nice quiet area. It only takes 10 min to into Venice by train which was very frequent and the hotel was very easy to find when walking from the train station.

The room and hotel is very clean and has a modern yet rustic feel to it which was nice. The service was pleasant and they were very knowledgeable about Venice and things to do. My advice is that due to expensive prices in Venice and if you are on a budget choose a hotel such as this one and simply commute, it’s very easy to do and if you have an inter-rail it’s free. Happy holidays!

We chose to stay in Mestre because it was less expensive than Venice, and we had read that in Venice you had to walk with your luggage into the hotels. We took a taxi from the airport, which was costly, about 35 euros. We knew we could take the shuttle to the train station, but chose not to. The train station was a short walk away, although there is a construction zone, but there is a pedestrian walkway. The train into Venice was quick and easy. If you are going on a cruise, from the Venice train station it is a short walk to the People Mover, which takes you to the port.

The room was small, as most European hotels, but adequate, and service was good. The breakfast was okay, but the scrambled eggs were always cold. Local restaurants were a bit pricey, but there is a sandwich shop and a McDonalds at the train station if you're really on a budget. There was also a good lunch spot and laundromat on the main street. Go left from the hotel to the first corner, turn left, then right at the corner of the big street. Laundromat is about three blocks down on right, and sandwich shop is on left just before it, with a big glass front, past the big green cross of the pharmacy. The laundromat is modern, and directions in English to explain that you put the money in a central panel, not the machines.
