“Good choice hotel when visit Venice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

Location: Good. Just 10 minutes walk from the bus / train station, then easily get train ticket if you want to go Venice island.

Location: Good. Just 10 minutes walk from the bus / train station, then easily get train ticket if you want to go Venice island.

Nearby area: Lots of restaurants and cafe nearby the hotels. You can walk to the shopping mall (which is good) and lots of boutique along the road. I also able to bought some cherries in the open bazaar in great price.

Check in: Hotel reception area small but beautiful, the owner (i believe) is helpful even though couldn't find our reservation at the first place. The check in process is smooth, they need my passport to keep until check out. I have met this experience in Cyprus, so i'm happy to do so.

Room: Allocated to Room 501,fifth floor. Although the lift can only up to 4th floor but this is worth to take this room as the room is new and spacious. Everything you expect in the hotel room are all available in this room, bed is comfortable and air conditioner is good functioning too. Free wifi in room, but only limited to one user, we bought another user pass with reasonable price.

Bathroom: Spacious and clean. Water pressure and temperature is good. The bath towel is new. The funny part is the window in the bathroom are electronic automatically open and closed, is good but i didn see any intention hotel made this electronically against the manual open and closed.

Check out: We checked out in the early mid night around 02:00am,the lightings was off in the reception area. But is good that there is a security guard or receptionist there to process our check out and return our passport back.

Breakfast: Good. I had ever taste the best coffee in venice. The breakfast selection is not so variety but hot food and cereal are all available, cheese ,fruit, bread and bun,etc...so tasty. We strongly advise you opt for outside dining, the ambience make you so joyful in the morning.

If you looking for superior comfortable stay in venice, Hotel Regit is the right choice. This is advise that you stay in Mestre and take 15 minutes train/bus to Venice island. Then you can save lots of accommodation fare compared stay in Venice island. And at night you can explore this small town in Mestre.

“Funcional Hotel, close to the station and Airport Bus”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012

The Hotel Regit has some good things going for it and although I would hesitate to date the age of the building the public areas and the bedrooms all appear to be newly decorated and furnished. As other reviewers have noted, the hotel is within a 3 minute walk of Mestre train station and a slightly shorter distance from the bus stop to Marco Polo Airport, but these walks skirts a building site and what seems to be some form of road improvement scheme making the journey with a suitcase somewhat more difficult than you would expect a 3 minute walk to be. The area in which the hotel is situated gives the impression of being somewhat downmarket and may be one that you are not 100% comfortable with, but any such sense is mostly superficial as there is no apparent violence or drug taking in the immediate vicinity.
The Regit hotel seems mostly to consist of small rooms be they the reception area, bar, breakfast room, breakfast terrace, lift, bedroom or bathroom but although nothing is large, everything is perfectly adequate for a stay of a few nights in what is a functional hotel.
Rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, the plumbing and the A/C works, there is free Wi-Fi (slow speed), and although located adjacent to 2 busy roads the room I had was quiet. Taking a shower (there is no bath) was marred by the abysmal toiletries offered by the management, miserly in quality and size and which defied opening this and the lack of any shelf in the shower area are items that the management should re-evaluate. Breakfast is self-service with juice and a variety of hot drinks dispensed by machines, on offer is the normal range of rolls and pastries but no fruit was to be seen when I stayed.
Considering the price the Regit could be looked upon a reasonable value hotel.

Room Tip: A room on te oposite side to the roads

“OK for Venice, Nice Hotel, Somewhat Seedy Area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2012

Our three-night stay at the Regit in Mestre was acceptable. The hotel is very close to the train station, which offers quick rides into Venice. The walk to the station goes through a short area that is seedy, to be kind. But, you're in the company of many tourists who walk to and from this hotel and many others to get to the train station. We stayed here for two reasons: good value for the price, and access to a taxi at the front door to take us to the airport for an early flight. Getting out of Venice when you have an early flight and lots of luggage is not a pleasant experience. We would stay again at the Regit. One goofy thing: their wi-fi password has to be put into your computer by the guy at the front desk, they will not give it out. But, the breakfasts were good, and the room fairly quiet.

Room Tip: Rooms that have a small balcony, and are not on the street side.

“Good enough for a short visit to Venice”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2012

First a little bit about staying in and travelling to Venice. We chose to stay in Mestre instead of Venice, and Im glad we did so. Finding our way to a hotel in Venice would have been a nightmare in the evening, when we werent even able to find our way trough Venice during the day. My advice is to buy a detailed map when you get there, or else you will spend a lot of time just trying to figure out where you are. Unless youre like us and see it as an adventure to explore the many streets and alleys without really knowing where you are. We took the water bus from the Grand Canal to get back to Piazzale Roma if we were to tired to walk back. Wear good shoes! We took the train to Venice, tickets are about 1,25 euro per person each way, and the regional trains leave every 10 minutes. When you go to Venice take a train for Santa Lucia, and back again you can take any train with an "R" or "Reg" for regioanl. You can also buy passes for longer time i think. Remember to validate your tickets in the yellow machines before boarding the train, or else you can get a fine!

Now back to the hotel itself, it is very easy to find. The bus from the airport and also the trainstation in Mestre is nearby. Just walk down the street across from the bus station and 200 metres and youre there. It was easy to check in, there is a small elevator, and we stayed at the 1st floor. No view from the room, but it had aircondition and it was possible to open a small window. Room ok, but a little bit outdated. Bathroom ok, looked clean. Small tv, not even 1 english channel! Hard bed! Wifi was good in our room, but beacuse of technical difficulties you had to go down to the lobby each time you wanted to connect, so the staff could enter the password for you. Not a big problem, but still. Small minibar in the room, we liked to buy water etc at the supermarket. Didnt try the breakfast, we like to sleep long and it ends at 09.30.

What was not good is that there were antz in the room. So keep your luggage lifted from the floor, and clean out trash right away. I noticed the staff, but it was to late to do anything then before we checked out. Staff is nice, and they give you tips about where to eat and shop in Mestre. There are not a lot of things to do in the local area, and also avoid the streets around the hotel at night, a lot of gangs and weird people hanging in the parks. A lot of construction work around the hotel, can be a bit noisy during the daytime, but then you are most likely in Venice anyway.

Room Tip: Try to ask for a room with a view.

“Close to train, helpful staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2012

I stayed here on my way to the Dolomites from Perth. I just needed somewhere for one night that was close to the station, cheap, quite and clean. The Hotel Regit delivered on all accounts, plus they have free WIFI. Breakfast starts at 0730 but they were ready when I was heading out at 0700 and invited me to have a coffee and something to eat, which was a nice supprise. The room was a single and VERY small, but all I needed.
