We went on a Europe trip, and though we had heard bad things about Italian hotels, Hotel Centrale was really bad!
We were given a room that was tiny, had no air and no sockets to charge our camera. When we went downstairs to change it, the receptionist suddenly forgot how to speak English! After much cajoling, he gave us another tiny room with sockets and still no air blowing from the a/c.
Since we were there for just 1 day, we somehow managed through it. But if you are going to be in Venice for a longer duration, I recommend something else.

I really enjoyed my vacation and my stay at Hotel Centrale in Mestre. I was really lucky to find a really comfortable and clean place at such a low price. Transport to Venice was really easy (by bus).

My friends and I booked a few days away in Venice for my birthday as it coincided with the Carnival, and wanted to stay somewhere quite cheap. Considering the good value of the hotel, we weren't expecting the Centrale to be particularly special, but we were very impressed when we arrived.

The staff at the front desk were incredibly helpful, offering valuable information on getting into Venice and bringing up extra blankets on the second night. The room was spacious enough for five people to stay in comfortably, and the ensuite bathroom was modern and worked perfectly.

The only problem I can think of with this hotel is the distance it is from Venice, but considering there are very good bus links between Venice and Mestre this wasn't too much of a problem.

Hotel Centrale was a very good hotel in the Mestre area of Venice which successfully served its purpose...to provide a nice area to sleep between sight seeing. The staff is very polite and useful when it comes to tourist information (free maps, bus schedules, directions, etc.). Plus the fact that there is a bus stop literally right in front of the hotel's front doors, makes this hotel even more
convenient. Although it's located in Mestre, the commute to Venezia is only 1 Euro and 10-15min. away from the hotel. The bus schedule is
very easy to learn and is almost always on time.

All in all, the hotel is clean and is on task with their roomservice.
Everything from the bathrooms to the beds were just like your typical
average hotel...nothing fancy, just the norm. Again, the staff was helpfull and check-in was a breeze.

I would recommend Centrale to any travelers who are easy going, not picky about 5 star quality, and people who just want a clean place to
rest after a full day of seeing Venezia. Besides, the whole point of coming to Venice is to see the sights...not sit in your hotel room
all day!
