“Excellent value, clean rooms, helpful staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

Excellent value for the price and location. Rooms are clean and tidy, fresh laundered sheets and towels changed regularly. Staff are helpful and informative. Breakfast is good and sufficient. Hotel is quiet and functional. We recommend and will stay again.
Buses to Venice and bus links to airport outside hotel.

Bus service great as stops outside hotel and about 20 mins from Venice but lucky if you get a seat on the busy bus route!!! . So be prepared to stand perhaps all the way. Ticket from local tobacconist gets you a pass for 3 days for 35 euros that does all buses and water taxis. Very good value No tea making facilities in room. Lidl near by which was great and to the right of the hotel about 5 mins walk a good pizzeria with fantastic food, tried to get into chinese next door but too busy to take us even for a takeaway. Room had balcony but no chairs, beds clean and average. Room and bathroom especially a bit tired and dated. Small tv that half works. Cramped dining room and had to wait one morning for seats! Breakfast limited - cereal, cheese, salami, coissants, eggs, rolls tea/coffee. Staff ok. No soundproofing as we could hear people coughing in next room.

The hotel is good. It is not in Mestre center, but it does not matter, since you always have to take the bus from Mestre to Venice. The room and the bath are large enough, the air conditioning is working fine. Maybe some people expect all-inclusive five star for 25 euro :)

i hav been there once but the staff over their is very rude. rooms are small and smelly, even the carpet is very dirty.Disgusting food they dont even give you extra pice of bread. Not a good location .I will prefer to stay at Venizia island or near mestre station. This is the on of my worst experience in Europe.

Rooms seem to be like hitchhiker accommodation, holes and damage on everything, furniture bedding, not to mention being dirty. The lamp shade, the walls, the carpets, the bedding, the furniture, the curtains, water or liquor stains, paint, holes ect........ Do not be fooled by description of 'a garden' as the photo of car park and two tree's is it! Then that is in high builded area next to a very busy main road like a war zone. The owner or manager is dodgy and try and pull the trick of broken curtain rail (been caught with it once before, not again) that you broke and then want to change you for repairs. Bottles drinks in fridge had some seals broken, which they would not replace. We arrived and wanted to cancel the last two nights which was 24 ours notice, which we did not get back our cancelled days, although it was booked online and they would arrange it. We had to take photo of everything in the room. Do not spoil you trip visiting Venice staying here!!!! The only advantage is you have the bus stop in that busy road, there is many places to stay with there great transport system. If you a poor student with no money and looking for a place to crash for the night, maybe!!!

So iv just arrived back from a great 3 night stay in this hotel! This hotel is in a great location, bus stop right outside the hotel that can take you to Venice and back! only 20 minutes max! 2 minutes walk to a nearby shop to by bus tickets and so on. The hotel room was small, basic and dated however great for a short stay the breakfast was good! egg, bread, cheese, salami, croissants, cereals and of course tea, coffee and so on. The reception staff were very helpful and spoke good English. Overall this hotel is perfect for a short stay while visiting Venice! Cant understand what people say about it being filthy and claustrophobic! Its a cheap hotel! you get what you pay for! :)

In honesty this hotel feels a little tired and dated in the bedrooms and needs TLC. We stayed here for 3 nights and at the price of £355 including our flights I obviously was not expecting the Dorchester hotel. Room was simple consisting of a bed, balcony, bathroom and the normal storage etc. The front of house team are very friendly and exceptionally helpfull. Now iv looked on here and seen people moan about the distance from Venezia city, again I would say pay more and stay closer. The bus service is frequent and for 33 euro you can buy a pass that lasts 72 hours which is valid on all busses AND water busses in Venice. It's 30euro to Venice and 40euro to marco polo from the club hotel by taxi. Over all we had a fantastic time and would stay again but we will more than likely stay in the centre.
