The Hotel Piave was an ok hotel. The breakfast buffet was nice, rooms were clean. There was a large group of teenagers staying at the hotel at the same time that were totally out of control at night. They ran up and down the halls screaming and yelling. When we called the desk in the middle of the night to complain, no one answered. The reception clerks were very indifferent to our questions about touring Venice and were not very helpful at all with bus & train passes. They were not friendly or customer service orientated. The refrigerator (minibar) did not work. Hotel staff said that the internet was not functioning. The location of the hotel is in a quiet neighborhoos and only a sort 5-10 minute bus/
train ride from Venice. The bus stop is 2 blocks away and the train station is only 3 blocks away. Very convenient.

“Not Good, This is a unhelpful hotel”

This hotel looks nothing like the website photos except for the outside photo. This was a very disappointing hotel, we had booked a room with 3 single beds as we are three single females travelling together, however we ended up with a single bed and one double bed. We only got two towels and had trouble getting an extra one, when we requested help from the staff they were very unfriendly, and unfortunately we requested assistance from both the day shift and night shift and got the same reception from both. I would not recommend this hotel.

“Ok hotel for short stay”

(Room #803 - double standard)

Reception - warm greeting, all 3 people within our day in Venice were friendly and helpful, spoke English well. Photos are accurate of the entrance and the reception area. We had a pre-paid voucher. Check-in and check-out were very quick and had no problems at all.

Luggage - they were happy for us to leave our bags, but there was not a luggage room, we left them in an open room with a bunch of chairs, not sure of it's purpose (meetings?)... Felt a little insecure, but they were there in full 8 hours later when we returned for checkin.

Room - first I'll just mention that they took us OUT of the main building, down the street around the corner, so we were a bit surprised, but it turned out to be a little closer to the train station, and it was a short walk in the morning for breakfast.
Bed was comfortable, very firm, TV on ceiling, plenty of space, quiet and dark during sleep. Bathroom was small - the shower wasn't separate, but didn't wet the whole floor, so it didn't turn out to be a big deal. Hairdryer was one of the funny ones that looks more like a vacuum but worked perfectly. Keep an open mind and you'll probably be satisfied with the room.
I don't think there was a mini-bar/fridge.

Breakfast - two choices: #1=free (lame continental with cold coffee, perhaps since we were there before it officially was opened) - consisted of some packaged toasts & Nutella (std.), cereal and milk, and some other packaged oddities... #2=buy breakfast and get a very nice spread with muffins, etc.

Location - as stated, about a 5 minute walk from the Mestre train station. We saved ALOT of money not staying in Venice, and it turned out to be just fine with the train times. There are trains running frequently to/from Venice-St.Lucia station, and it was inexpensive (can't remember, maybe 3 Euros each way?). Lots of other hotels were closer, like the Best Western across the street, and the walk seems a little shady/dirty, but felt safe as a couple. Might not recommend for a single female traveler.

There's a cheap little coffee house on the way to the train station, I think I got a banana and a pastry there...

Booked last-minute using GTAHOTELS.COM 10/2007 for $171/night.

“Poor value tiny room”

We stayed at the Piave on a trip from Ekaterinburg to Gibraltar (11 hotels in all) It was undoubtedly the worst and the most expensive, not even up to the standards of central Russia and Belarus. We were shunted off to an annexe about 100m away, the room was tiny, the shower/WC even smaller, about 1.1m x 1m, and one had to paddle on a wet floor to use the WC and basin. Staff were generally disinterested, apart from one pleasant girl who was sometimes at the desk.
Those on B&B terms had an inferior breakfast in a segregated part of the room. The "better" breakfast looked only average, too.
One expects Venice to be expensive, but this was a real rip off and does no credit whatsoever to the usually very hospitable Italians.

“dishonest and liers”

Hotel Piave

Aug 5, 2007

We stay in hotel piave for 2 nights ,we r family of 4 (2 kids,2 elders, for the first night we book a tripple room coz of the unavailability of quad. They gave us a room which is situated in a villa portion, 2 block far from the main hotel. The room was very small that its been diffucult to adjust our luggage in it.Secondly it does not have any AC as mention in their website. They just gave us a small table fan(imagine in july a table fan for 4 person). When we told tht we book an air condition room the receptionist said tht u will shift in quad tomorrow so there is no need of AC for one night. The size of a bathroom is very small,so please dont move during your shower.Next day we shifted in quad ,in main hotel building which is slightly better but tht first night was terrible.
