My husband and I spent one night at Hotel Villa Costanza on our recent visit to Italy. It was the last night of our vacation before catching a plane home the next day from Venice airport (Marco Polo). On a previous visit to Venice we also stayed in Mestre. It's the town on the mainland, one train stop before Santa Lucia Station, Venice. Hotels in Mestre are more affordable than on the island of Venice. From Mestre you can either take a train or local bus (20 min. ride) onto the islands of Venice.
I was told Hotel Villa Costanza has been a hotel for 3 years now. From the train station it was a 10 min. walk with our luggage. Just a few blocks away and very easy to find in a very quiet neighbourhood. The next day we walked back to the area of the train station to find the airport bus station located beside the train station. This was much more affordable than a taxi to the airport. Buses to the airport run at least every 20 minutes.
Upon entering the hotel lobby we were so impressed with the decor....beautiful, tastefully done. We checked in quickly and were taken to a lovely ground floor room. It was an adequate size for 2 people and beautifully appointed. It had a spacious bathroom with shower stall.
This hotel has an outside covered patio with tables and chairs where you can order a beverage during the day or evening. We paid extra for the "buffet" breakfast, not included with the regular room rate. This breakfast buffet as a large selection of food, juices, coffees and teas on offer. Once again the presentation is immaculate.
All the staff we met were very friendly and accommodating to our needs. We were sorry that we weren't able to stay any longer than one night at Hotel Villa Costanza. We highly recommend this hotel.
