“Best Views in Italy and Amazing Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2013

The rooms were very clean and roomy. We had a two bedroom apartment with a large balcony with stunning views of Capri. All the staff were wonderful and very attentive to our needs. No need to use your car here, just leave it in the parking lot. Take a five minute walk to get a bus for Sorrento and also down to the beach for 1.30 Euro per person. The Hotel will also arrange for you to go out at night to nearby restaurants that will pick you up and take you to and from their restaurants. The Hotel's restaurant is also Ok for meals at night. We made our own breakfast's in our apartment after shopping at nearby local stores for fresh eggs, fruits and meats.

We recently had a short stay here, which turned out to be one of the most enjoyful out of our entire trip throughout italy. The service was the best you could ask for and the location and views were amazing.

This was one of the best places that my husband and my two children stayed in during our five week trip around Europe. Gocce di Capri has a really pleasant, welcoming and relaxed feel about it. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment, Villa Blue, which had a fold out lounge and another good bed made up for our children. Every morning we opened up the french doors to a beautiful view of Capri and the sea. Our room was spacious enough and we only really slept there anyway. If we were not doing day trips around the area then we were relaxing by the pool or having a drink at the bar area which also has a great view. The children had access to wifi, you do have to pay, but we didn't mind. They were happy! Marco and Claudia were wonderful hosts. Very friendly and would do anything for you. We found all the staff friendly and nice to talk to. They would always say hello. The restaurant has lovely food. We ate there three times and were never disappointed. The only down side to staying here was that it wasn't long enough! We had five wonderful nights here and I hope to come back one day. Thank you Marco and Claudia for an excellent stay. I would recommend this beautiful place to anyone.

Room Tip: Villa blue is by itself and has two lovely verandahs with great views.

My boyfriend and I stayed here during our Italian road trip in May. Out of the different places we stayed it was the best for overall qualities. The apartment we had was spacious and lots of facilities in kitchen. The view from our balcony was incredible and the pool was a bonus. The price we paid was excellent value for money. The only problem we had was that we couldn't stay longer as it was fully booked.

We were at the Gocce di Capri from the 10th to the 17th of august. It really was the best part of our vacation in Italy. Even tough its a little difficult to find, when you're get there it's like discovering paradise. First of all the service. Claudia and Marco are so nice. They explain everything to you. They also offert excursions from the resort. Normaly, when you rent an appartement, there is no excursions. But since the driving is crazy for us Canadian in this part of Italy, it's a good option if you don't want to drive your car to much, So we booked an excursion to Capri, Amalfi and Positano and finaly Pompéi and Vesuvio. Marco was there, early morning to drive us to the meeting place for the excursion and at the end of the day, there was somebody there also to bring us back, It was amasing !! We do travel a lot in Europe but also to those all inclusive resorts in the Carabeen and i'm telling you they woud need lessons from the management of these resort. it's friendly and they would do everything in there power for you to insure a wonderful stay.

I would considere this resort a 3 stars. There nothing fancy about the Gocce di Capri, but the appartement was clean. You would have everything for cooking and you have a balcony with a table and chairs and a view on Capri island to kill for and those sunsets !!!!

It was really hot in Italy this year and it was really nice to take a swim in this big pool over looking Capri. The pool had a nice temparature and was really clean. And when you come back, after a day of visiting, it was nice to jump in to that pool.

The restaurant there is really good and the price are the lowest we have seen in Italy !! The view again on Capri, you can Watch the Sunset every nights, Good variety of food and they always thank you at the and of the evening with a glass of limoncello. A perfect way to finish the day !!

I think that the Gocce Di Capri fits all kind of travellers. The location is great to reach many place on the Amalfi coast and after a few weeks of travelling, it's a nice place to take a break.

Thank you again. We will remember this place forever !!

Love from the french Canadian !!

Room Tip: I don't think there is a bad room. they are alle construct on a hill so you have nice view where...

Dear Jcote2,

Thank you very much for your feedback.

I have to say that I don't usually reply to positive feedback, but in this case I am happy to do an exception!

It is great to see that you have enjoyed your time here with us in this very special coner of the earth. As you said, even if we are a 3 star property ( with prices that reflect the 3 stars rating), we do like to exceed our guest's expectations and we are glad we did it this time.

This is not just our job, this is our passion and we take it very seriously.

I take also this opportunity to thank all of our guests that have chosen Gocce Di Capri as their accomodation during their holidays in the Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast in 2013.

We look forward to welcoming you all back one day!

Best of luck,

Marco Cocurullo

This place was great value for money. We stayed 3 nights and the views from our 2 bedroom balcony were outstanding. The reception staff were friendly and helpful and the food at the restaurant was well priced and very tasty (better than the fancy restaurant we went to in Sorrento and paid double for with no ocean views).

The only thing you need to be aware of is that it is 10kms out of Sorrento (which is good) but you need your own transport as the bus to this part of the Amalfi coast does not run very often and almost not all on weekends. The ride is a windy 45 minute trip to Sorrento. Do that and back every day as well as long bus trips to Positano and Amalfi and we were "bused out" after 2 days here.

The hotel itself though is so good and the staff so friendly and helpful it is worth every bit of trouble getting here.

Globally the reviews are very positive about this hotel. This leads one to have high expectations. I think it is important to realise that Gocce di Capri only claims to be a three star category hotel. I share the pluses others have mentioned: the view is a must, the location for us was fine, the pool is a real plus especially for kids, the team in place are enthusiastic and helpful. The (independently run) onsite restaurant is actually quite good and also good value..

I put a three star review to reflect a disappointment versus expectations with all these euphoric reviews. Considering the price we paid (I admit it was in peak season), I was disappointed with the cheap/poor quality furnishing of the appartment. A renovation is overdue. Wifi is unreliable and only available in the bar area.
