“Friendly, clean & quiet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013 via mobile

The hotel is set in a quiet location, all the staff are friendly & helpful. Our bedroom 110 was a good size & was clean & well cared for, we had plenty of space & storage. The room was on the side of the hotel so we didn't have a view, it was good to have a balcony though. One of the best things about the hotel are the seating areas in the lounge area, very pleasant & comfortable. The bar was well stocked & we really enjoyed a drink after a day out or before dinner. The food is a little more tricky to evaluate, I am vegetarian & thought the dinner was ok, my meat eating husband was disappointed with the quality of the food. The breakfast was good particularly the fresh fruit. Dinner was at 8pm which we found a little late for our personal taste. The wine available at dinner was good, but we missed half litre house wine which we have had in some other hotels. We enjoyed a pizza one lunch time with a jug of cheaper house wine at the pizza bar a couple of streets away. So, good, clean & quiet but the food could be a little better.

We have just returned from our second visit to Hotel Andreaneri and it was just as good as our first stay. The attention to detail was perfect all areas of the hotel are very clean and tidy, the rooms and bath room were spotless. Breakfast and evening meals were very good with lots of local dishes. The pass for the beach was very useful. My wife and I will be returning again and thanks to the excellent staff and the owners.

A lovely little hotel with very pretty gardens in a quiet suburb about 10 minutes from the beach.
The room was a decent size with a comfortable bed and spotlessly clean. The linen was changed regularly and rooms cleaned every day.
Perhaps the bathroom was a little restrictive in it's layout but we managed perfectly well.
The staff without exception were very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble
Meals were very good, home cooked and always hot.My husband was in his element as he loves Italian food.Even I with traditional British tastes found something to eat and enjoy each day!
Portions for the main meal seemed a little small but nevertheless after four courses we never left the table hungry.
We could have had free tickets for two deckchairs and a parasol at the Bagno Ro Ro but didn't avail ourselves of these as we are not really beach people.
We did excursions to Florence,Pisa, Lucca and Siena and made our own way easily to local places such as Pietrasanta,Forte dei Marmi and Viareggio but the highlight of the week was the trip to San Gimingnano a beautiful hill town situated in lovely Tuscan countryside.
All in all we enjoyed our holiday but will not be returning to this area as we feel that to really see the real Tuscany you need to hire a car which my husband doesn't want to do.
Having said that, I would have no hesitation in recommending the resort to beach lovers who want the opportunity for some culture as well, and no hesitation in recommending the Andreaneri.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2013

We have just spent a week at the Hotel Andreaneri and were extremely pleased that we chose to stay there. I do not agree with the earlier reviews about disappointing room sizes or food. Our room was large with (if anything) too much storage and the bathroom was a good size. The food we found to be excellent, home cooked Italian food. Nothing fussy or complicated, but just good, tasty, fresh, well cooked food which always arrived piping hot. The evening meals were four courses (antipasti, first, second and dessert) and chosen by the guests from the menu in the morning, for that evenings meal. We also had a large coach party arrive during our stay and the standard of the food did not change at all, it remained excellent. Every room has a balcony which is a bonus. The hotel is small, very clean with attentive and friendly staff. The guests have the use of the private beach during their stay, which includes the use of deckchairs and the swimming pool. The hotel itself is a short walk to the beach (7 mins) and to the small centre at the Marina (7 mins). The town is very bicycle friendly, with cycle routes along the sea front and on the main roads. There are bicycles to hire at a number of shops in town. The towns or Pietra Santa and Forte de Marmi are walkable (approx 5 km) but if you really want to explore the local area and avoid the truly awful Italian public transport system (which can add hours to a very simple journey by simply the train / bus not arriving/ not leaving the station/ stopping for no reason during the journey), I would recommend you hire a car! My only disappointment with this holiday was that the swimming pool for the guests had not opened yet because it was before the start of the season - but having said that, the weather was so changeable at this time of year that it was unlikely we would have used it. Do take an umbrella as the hotel is so close the mountains that rain is likely. Finally, although there is a hair dryer in the bathroom at the hotel, I would recommend you bring you own as it had all the drying capacity of a hand held battery operated fan (without batteries).

When we first got to this hotel everything was fine, ok we had a small room on the side and it didn't get much sun but it was very clean and the staff were excellent. The food portions were small but it was well cooked and always very hot. That was until a coach party turned up three days after we got there and the kitchen went to pot with cold overcooked food being the order of the day. We put up with it for a couple of days but in the end we complained after that the staff were very attentive and you could see that they were concerned but that did not prevent several more days of overcooked cold vegetables being served up. Then the coach party left and we though great back to good food but alas another coach load turned that evening.

Room Tip: Get a room at the front or on the south side or at least one that has lots of sunlight unlike 309.

just returned .Hotel good ,clean towels and sheets daily.
Food ok do not agree with last review, our evening buffet was continually being replenished.
Staff very freindly and helpful.Nothing was too much trouble.Bar prices very reasonable
Our room was large 3 beds and 2 seater settee in the room, lots of room to walk around in the room.Plenty of storage space for 3 people
Only downside no fridge in room and need another coffee machine at breakfast.
Easy to visit Pisa ,Lucca and Florence using local buses and trains.
Pietrasanta - 15min bus ride away is a lovely small town not to be missed.

Having read previous reviews on this hotel and also having looked on their web site at the restaurant details we were looking forward to exciting dining. Unfortunately in reality the presentation, imagination and food quality were well below expectations. Breakfast proved adequate but dinner was poor to say the least. Generally, the much featured buffet comprised of beetroot, tomatoes, carrots and beans of various varieties. The restaurant claimed to be open from 8.00pm till 9.00pm for dinner. Any specially prepared buffet items were gone by 8.10pm and not replenished. As for the other three courses without going into too much detail we estimated the average cost of a course ranging between 1 euro 50 and 3 euros.

As for the remainder of the facilities and location they were good and acurately described on this site, with the expection being the room size (as noted) and problems posed by trying to find somewhere in the room to put your suitcases. At one point we were even considering the balcony! Sadly, because of the huge disappointment regarding the afore mentioned poor food in an area of Italy famed for its gastronomy we will not be visiting this hotel again.
