“Wonderfull staff, wonderfull stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2012

We recently spent 10 days at the Hotel Tirreno and we had a great time, hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff are amongst the most helpfull we have ever met, even dealing with a hire car incident for us, brilliant.

The hotel is about 50m from a stunning beach with safe swimming and there are loads of nice restaurants nearby to suit everyones taste and pocket.

A great day trip is the the boat trip along the Cinque Terra that leaves daily from the pier, the pier itself is a great source of entertainment every night.

Great breakfast, free wifi and a lovely garden all add to the experience at the hotel.

“Cozy rooms, a rich breakfast, near the center and just a few steps from the beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2012

I stayed at the Tirreno as I was visiting the Carrara Fair and had a pleasant staying. Rooms are quite small but perfectly proportioned, the bathroom.... not very satisfying, spare and ... beware 'cause you can really hear EVERY single noise from the one next door, don't know about others but in our room it had a single shared-window, indeed they divided a single living-space into two adjoining bathrooms, one per room and while the window is "single" it is part of a double window (sorry cannot explain better, you'll have to see it to understand).
A very good point is breakfast, the restaurant is pleasant and modern looking, the buffet is very rich in sweets, sorry not available a real English Breakfast but good all the same. Bicycles at the hotel are free but poorly maintained. Personnel is very kind and helpful. All in all thumbs up and the breakfast covers it all! I would go back but not in high season.

“Friendly and welcoming”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2011

Stayed here out of season in November. Right on the beach, we had a sea view room with spectacular sunset each night. Very friendly welcome. Clean good size room and bathroom with shower only. Good breakfast each morning and a 10% discount offered in some local restaurants each night. Would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Get a sea view if you can.

“Below average”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2011

The hotel is about 50m from the beach as stated. The beach is typical Italian style - you have to pay the daily rent of the umbrella, chairs (around 15eur/day). The sand is darker style, not the carribean white one. Just ok for the kids I would say, not much otherwise (no boat or scooter rental or anything like that nearby), no space enough for beach sports,...

The front door is however on the opposite side - facing mountains. The parking outside is small and the staff has to re-park the cars every time someone brings in or out their cars.

The rooms are clean, but completely outdated, paintings and furniture low class, even funny (painting of the Disney cartoon on the walls). The TV set is ridiculous as the provided channels and TV quality is poor, no pay per view or anything like that. No DVD player,.. no radio. Rooms do not have balcony. Only some rooms on the second floor have a sea view.

When it comes to the noise isolation - this is quite bad - you can hear disco from outside till about 2am or later. You can head people walking in the rooms above, speaking outside. The AC is not quiet either.

The continental breakfast is ok, the choices are quite good, even though oriented more into the sweet side. There are some good Italian restaurants nearby so eating is not a problem.

The staff is friendly, some speak some English and some German, French.

In overall, I would say this hotel is below average for the price and 3 star ranking.

“Just an average stay with some downsides”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2011

We stayed here for one night just to lay on the beach and travel further the next day.
It turned out to be that if you wanted to stay on the beach, you have to have a reservation (what we obviously didn't have).
The hotel couldn't do anything for us and said it was normal, so our beachtrip was blewn.... :-(

Breakfast was very good with many to choose from, even chocolate brownies!

Parkingspace was very poor, there are 4 places on the property of the hotel and if they're full (and of course they always are) you'll have to park on the street (for free). With the car fully loaded that wasn't a nice feeling.... Their website states that there is free parking, that's correct but we thought it was in some sort of a parkinglot ;-)

Rooms were nice and clean, but the airco did stop in the middle of the night, not nice!

For EUR. 170,- a night there are better options in my opinion...
