Stopped over for a night on the way to Florence from Splugen... and were very happy that we did ! The hotel was well located right in the middle of the Piazza and had quite a large number of eateries around it. The piazza itself was a lovely place to walk in and the beach was 2 minutes away across the main road. The manager who spoke impeccable english was from Florence and was extremely friendly and helpful. He gave us a host of information about the surrounding attractions (Massa, Cinqueterre, Carrara) and also about Florence which would have been difficult to find on the internet. He also treated us to authentic Italian Espresso after a very satisfactory breakfast. The room, though small, was comfortable with quaint shuttered windows and the bathroom was quite adequate. There was no lift which was a bit of a problem. Would definitely stay here again.
