My friend and I stayed at the Hotel Villa Adele early May and it was nice. It has a very at home feel to it. We were put off by the expensive rates on the actual island and wanted to stay further out. The staff were fantastic, they were really helpful with directions and provided us with great service. The owner even dropped us off at the local station to get the airport bus when we realised we'd miscalculated the time and had missed the bus. My friend also suffered from a swollen leg and they were great in providing us with fresh ice and clean towels.

I have just returned from my short stay in venice at the villa adele hotel. Accomodation on venice island is very very expensive during peak season;- £90 to £150 per night, so i opted to stay off the island but close enough to a short transport link to the island. I booked this hotel 2 months before i travelled & paid just £24 a night for 4 nights. You probably won't find a cheaper hotel in or around venice. However the villa adele is not ''cheap''. I read the reviews before i booked & most were spot-on. The villa adele is very clean with excellent air-conditioning, the staff very helpful & a transport link to the island just around the corner. The breakfast on offer was cereal, juice, croiccants & yoghurt. The number 6 bus takes you over the motorway crossing to venice isle in 15 minutes. However if i must gripe it would be that the breakfast room is very small. Barely larger than an extended kitchen. Also the mini-bar is empty & you must ask reception if you require water, beer, juice etc.. These were hardly 'problems' as such but the concept of these reviews is to point out your likes & dislikes. This hotel comes recommended to those, like me, on a mid/moderate budget & to all who object to paying £100+ per night on the island. A great find. 8/10.

The hotel was great. We walked there from the train station (wouldn't recommend that on a hot July afternoon but I think there might have been a bus we could have taken we just were not in the mood to figure that out.) The staff was super nice and helpful. They all spoke excellent English. The room was nice, and comfortable with a beautiful bathroom. Breakfast was crossaint, roll, cereal, fruit ,yogurt, juice, coffee/tea, in a nice dining area. The front desk clerk gave us directions to a restaurant a short walk fromt he hotel and it was wonderful. It was very cool looking inside and had menus available in English as well 4 other languages. The food there was also less expensive than the restaurants in Rome and the portions seemed bigger.

It was an easy walk to the bus stop that gets you to San Marco and at the front desk the sell bus tickets and traghetti tickets which is really convenient. I would stay here again in a second.

This hotel was a great welcome to Italy. The staff on reception were great, very knowledgeable and helpful and the room was great. Air-con, clean and a shower with jets! Secure car parking and basic but nice breakfast.
Bus to hte ferry into Venice was a minutes walk around the corner and you could get all your tickets from the reception staff.

Highly recommended place to stay outside of Venice.
