After reading all the reviews here on Trip advisor I wasn’t very sure about the Camping. But it was my only option in Venice, because I decided to visit few days before and the other hotels were muchhhh more expensive!
So, I booked a “bungalow” for 3 nights. Finding the place was really hard specially because we took the wrong bus… We didn’t pay attention and ended up taking 6/ and not 6! But luckly (because it's rare!) someone on the bus knew where the camping was and explained to us. I suggest you do a little googling before hand… because only with the instructions given by the hotel it can be tricky to find.
As we arrived we really enjoyed the feeling of the place. The restaurant was open, the front desk was quick and efficient. Our bungalow was also very ok. 2 single beds (there was a 3rd one, but I think for 3 adults it would be too tight!!) and also a bathroom. Everything was very clean.
Based on this experience we decided to extend our stay for another 3 days (and explore the region of Veneto). But then we need to change rooms and it wasn’t so good as the first. In theory they were exactly the same, but this one was really close to the road and also the neighbors were really noisy next door, which made it really hard to sleep.
In general the Camping has some really good things like: free internet (even though not very fast on the pc they provide… but it’s free), small market with some BASIC items, a pub that has fair prices and every other day a DJ, and a restaurant that is very affordable and the food was really good (unfortunately we only went there on our last night!). The atmosphere was also very nice… many families with babys, kids and grampas/mas on their 70s.
The bad things: just like any other budget hotel it’s a matter of luck… If you are a picky person, with sleeping issues it can be harder for you. But if you are used to hostels it’s fine!!! Much better than regular hostels . But the WORST for me was the stupid shuttle service! You can only buy the tickets in the hostel, so you have to be already there!!! When you arrive with your luggage you have to take the bus and walk 10/15min. Also, you buy the shuttle with a pre determined time to go and return. So, it didn’t seem like a good deal… We were fine with the bus (that was included in our HELLOVENICE card) and walking until the hotel… The area is very residential and we never felt threatened or scared.
