The hotel is on a relatively isolated headland from which the bedrooms overlook the small private beach at the bottom of a steep path. From the dining room terrace we enjoyed magnificent sunsets over Corsica and a 180 degree view of the sea. From the hotel paths lead to another more popular and accessible cove and along the coast and inland. The dinner is OK (we were on a half pension deal), but even better à la carte. The proprietors and those who work there are pleasant and helpful. However, the rooms (or at least ours and another we saw) are beginning to show their age. As the mattresses rest on wood planks, I found the bed too hard to sleep on (and had to find a cushion to protect my hip). There are no mosquito nets; and no way to keep insects out of the bathroom. There also some mean touches: half broken plastic shop coat hangers (as IKEA wooden ones are so cheap, there is no longer a reason to skimp on these). At breakfast, you have to pay extra to get real coffee, the fruit juices are the ersatz supplied by cheap hotel chains, and the jams are factory products in small pre-packed portions. In Italy one expects better.
