We spent 5 days at this nice place. We had the big room at first floor reaching out to a large terasse.
Our hosts very nice and friendly and we really enjoyed their hospitality. The food was all self cooked and very tasty. Just the breakfast could have been more elaborate. We would have liked to be closer to a sand beach since the village of Pomonte offers only a stony beach. On the other hand, their are several beaches on little coves along the southern elba cost which are within 20 min to reach.
Even our 1 year old baby enjoyed the stay. We'll certainly can recommend the hotel.

Elba is a very special unspoiled island, a hiker's and nature lover's paradise, and this is a very special family hotel. The owners Lorella and Ronaldo, did everything they could to make our stay as comfortable and interesting as possible. Conversations were conducted in a mixture of minimal Italian and rather more French which was always fun. The hotel is simple and no frills, but the room was kept spotlessly clean by the delightful chambermaids, the beds were excellent and everything always worked perfectly and - we had a sea view. There is a car park for about eight cars, - I suspect this may be a bit of a problem in high season. There is no pool but it is only a five minute walk to a small shingle beach - once in the water the swimming is a dream
( first two weeks June ). We took half board and never regretted it. The cook really knows his business and produces a variety of Italian dishes every day. The menu appeared to be fixed until Lorella one day said if there is nothing on the menu that you like just tell me what you want and I will see what we can do. Which is the way this hotel is run, - very professional but with unending kindness. There is very good (pretty serious) hiking on the island and the best of the trails seem to be close to this hotel. On arrival, we were offered a full day's hiking excursion for two free with guide. All in all unforgettable - thank you so much Lorella and Ronaldo for a wondeful holiday. Incidentally, if you are a diver there is a convenient wreck about 100 metres offshore in shallow water. If you like simple pleasures but require quality where the essentials are concerned then I am sure you will not be disappointed here.
