My wife and I stayed in Malcesine in August and were lucky enough to have discovered this delightful restaurant tucked away under the ramparts of the the castle.
You climb up an ascent of steps from Via Castello to the restaurants terrace which is as nicer spot as we found to eat during our whole stay....and that's saying something in a town as beautiful as Malcesine.
The leafy terrace looks down on one side to the street below and out over the town, whilst on the other side the illuminated and imposing walls of the castle loom over you. Although the restaurant had a steady flow of customers, it was the perfect place to go on a hot August evening to escape the hustle and bustle of the busy town.
I think we would have enjoyed eating in such a setting even if the meal had been of only average quality. As it was, we had a superb meal, with excellent friendly service. My sea food salad was one of the highlights of several great meals we had in the town during our stay.
If you're in Malcesine I highly recommend trying the restaurant as an alternative to some of the busy restaurants around the lakeside. The setting and the food are as good as you will find in the town.
