“A fantastic holiday and great stay in Hotel Sirena”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

This is our second time at staying at the Hotel Sirena in Malcesine and we will return again with no hesitation. The hotel is in a fantastic location and we found it to be mostly very quiet. The rooms are looked after and cleaned daily. We also had fresh towels every day. The staff running the hotel are very friendly and very helpful. We booked a last minute holiday this year and when booking I failed to notice the room was "head to head beds". I'd never heard of this before and didn't know what to expect. We stayed in the Room 14 which has received a dreadful review on Trip Advisor and we were very unsure about what to expect when we arrived. The room was smaller than a standard double room but we had plenty of space for our needs. We had a wardrobe to hang our clothes, a dressing table with chair and a clean bathroom with shower, bidet and WC. We didn't have a balcony but did have a window. On our previous visit to the hotel we did have a balcony lake view room which was also good but then we paid full price for that holiday with a supplement for the lake view room. I just hope this review will offer some reassurance to anyone who might be allocated Room 14. For a last minute booking we were delighted with this hotel and room. I attach some photos of the room which I hope will be helpful for anyone else who may stay there.

Having read all the previous comments I wholeheartedly agree with most of them, this is a gorgeous, spotlessly clean and very happy hotel, for us the best hotel we have stayed in in lake Garda and we have been to many! Would return in a heartbeat well done Elisabet and the team thank you.

Room Tip: Stayed in room 12 a little noise from the street and church bells perhaps better on lake side.

It is very difficult to find something not already said about this hotel it is quite the most perfect small hotel and I would not want to mark it down because of perceived deficiencies. It is a small hotel with facilities to match, however first impressions are of a newly rejuvenated hotel, superb location ,the outdoor facilities regardless of whether or not you wanted sun tan or just to sit in the shade, is top notch. Breakfast is very good simple but everything was very fresh. I highly recommend this budget hotel, on every level.

Room Tip: My room was 18 on the side next to the restaurant with limited lake view but the excellent double gl...

This being our first visit to Italy, let alone Lake Garda, we were pleasantly surprised by the standard of this hotel, especially as it is only rated 2 star. It is true what they say, first impressions count, and I can definately say I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel to anyone. The reception staff were first class and couldn't have been more helpful, the room, although fairly basic was extremely clean. Breakfast was continental, but very satisfactory. The real selling point of this hotel is its location, right by the lakeside, and although our room did not overlook the lake, we had a magnificent view of the mountains. Restaurants and shops are within 20 yards of the hotel, these also are extremely good for eating and shopping. Would we go back to this hotel again - WITHOUT A DOUBT
We holidayed the first week in June, and although not scorching hot it was pleasantly warm

Room Tip: All rooms have good views, but the ones at the front of the hotel, although having great views of th...

The hotel is in a fantastic lakeside location, the terrace leading directly onto the lake. Despite being situated only a few hundred metres from the centre of town, it is very peaceful and quiet, even on an evening when there is live music playing. The owners were lovely, very friendly and couldnt be more helpful. The room was large and very comfortable, there was no air conditioning, however we were able to hire a fan for a euro per night. Breakfast was a basic continental breakfast, all fresh and tasty, and while the hotel doesn't offer evening meals, snacks are available throughout the day.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back and side offer views of the lake, rooms at the front offer views of the mountain...

This two star hotel is right on the lake near the port. The location could not be better. It has a terrace overlooking the lake from which you can swim. But do buy protective swimming shoes as the lake is rocky and not good with bare feet. The bar offers drinks and coffee for when on the terrace and the prices are very good.
The hotel is very clean. The breakfasts are basic but good enough. Brown and white bread rolls with ham, cheese, salami. Jams and honey. Fruit juice and coffee.
You can take your coffee out onto the terrace but not your breakfast.
If you want a room with balcony and lake view then be aware that package holiday companies do not book these rooms. Once you have booked contact the hotel and request a lake view and offer to pay the extra in cash. Its worth it.
The bedrooms are basic but clean with ensuite bathrooms usually only a shower.
The owners dont speak a lot of English but enough to get by. They are very nice and helpful.
We spent a week here and really cant complain. However wish I had contacted them to get the lake view with balcony.

Room Tip: If booking through a package company like Thomsons be aware you are unlikely to get a lake view with...

After reading in great depth the reviews for this hotel, they are all spot on about the lakeside location being superb. If it hadn't been for this I think I would have been rather disappointed. Why?.....
Well, why have a lovely lake view establishment and then serve your breakfast inside a cramped and dark back room, with all the Brits clumped together! All other hotels ate on the outside terraces.
Also Thompson/Crystal advertise a jacuzzi/whirlpool on the terrace, this is super! However the owners were dead set against switching it on, so it remained closed whilst we were there.
The shower was dreadful, very cold and having no jacuzzi also made this even worse.
Breakfast was pitiful.

However, the rooms were fine, nice enough reception staff and fine for a few days.

Room Tip: Room 14 was dreadful, we took room 5, nice little lake view and a double without balcony.
