“Where time stands still...”

Hotel Castello Lake Front Malcesine has a brilliant location (close to the Centre but not close enough to be noisy!), panoramic views and is overall a really good family run establishment! The breakfast was a real treat and a good spread. We really enjoyed our 5 nights at the Hotel, very relaxing...you could sit in your balcony and spend hours just listening to the gentle lapping of the Lake. Francesca at the Reception is particularly helpful and is always ready to help with suggestions et all. We ate at the Hotel restaurant twice (lunch and dinner) and the food was really good, especially the Tiramisu...mmmmmmm!!!
The only thing we missed in our room was a Tea/Coffee maker...other than that great Hotel with personalised care...

We stayed here as it was next door to the castle and great for the wedding... nice location, great views to wake up to, really nice hotel. we travel a lot so are used to all standards. We stayed in the Castello suite which was by no means cheap but it is a very nice room, most expensive room by far in fact. Breakfast is ok, nice assortment. A nice walking, cycling, running trail takes you along the lake from here.

Pros: Nice hotel, really friendly staff, speak good english, good food. I would imagine the main rooms are a lot better value for money than our suite.

Cons: No tea making facilities, not ideal for us Brits. Annoying notes about the minibar and threat of replacing your items (which they didnt do but theres no need for the threat over bottles of water!). no gym or pool.

Stayed there in May 2014 with friends. My single room (113) was generous and had a small balcony with a Lake View. Maria and her team were friendly and helpful. The rooms including public rooms were immaculately clean. Breakfasts and antipasti were the stars. The roof terrace (3rd floor) was a real find as we had not realised until day 3 that it was there! Great location within walking distance of the lake, the harbour, the town and the cable car. Easy trip to Limone (ferry) and Verona. The snow on the hilltops added to the stunning views. Lovely lakeside walks in both directiosn. Maria recommended a piano and flute recital in the Captain's Palace (near the harbour) - a great eveing in an old building.

Room Tip: The lakeside view is worth the supplement

We stayed here for a week in April and can honestly say it is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in before. Set right on the lake front, it has the most amazing views of both the lake and the castle. Location is superb, everything within 5-10 minutes walk. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and were brilliant with our two children. Food, rooms, cleanliness, - everything about the hotel was truely fantastic. Would go back in a heartbeat!

Room Tip: We stayed in a suite, and the views are just fantastic.

Stayed there for two nights. Excellent view of the room. The hotel is located right in front of the lake side. Every morning we waked up with a fantastic view. The people from cleaners to restaurant staff and receptionists were all passionate and friendly to make your stay a memorable one. The food and drinks in the restaurant were all reasonably priced.

Stayed here for a five day break in May. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The food is excellent. Breakfast selection is the best we have encountered in any hotel in Italy. Evening meals are five courses- a pre starter, starter, salad buffet, main course, dessert. Good selection offered with some dishes staying on every day and others changing.
The rooms are ok, comfortable and well equipped. Tea and coffee making are not available in the rooms, but it never is in Italy. The view is lovely over the lake if you choose to pay for it! The rooms were also quiet at night. The location could not be better, Malcesine is a picturesque town with cobbled streets, lovely walks along the lake and a cable car to take you up to a picturesque mountain view. Cable car station is within 200 yards of hotel. Quay to take boats to other towns is about 400 yards. Overall I would really recommend Malcesine for a trip to Lake Garda and this hotel is one of the best.

Room Tip: Lake view s a must

Once again we have been thoroughly spoilt by Matteo, Marco, Ugo and all the fabulous staff at the Hotel Castello. This was our 5th visit and and we can only say that it gets better every time. From the wonderful food, gorgeous cocktails (which we did our best to try most of), attentive staff and truly magnificent surroundings, everything was perfect. Already planning our trip for next year ........
