“Jaw dropping views - fantastic staff!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2009

Stayed here for 5 days for a wedding in Aug 09 - the hotel is very clean, spacious with just the most amazing views from the balcony as you are located up the hillside a little. Fabrizio the owner is a star and knows the answer to every question! Takes about 15 mins to walk into town centre. Pool is lovely too, but not huge. The terrace is a great place for a drink in the evening before heading into town. Breakfast is absolutely fine for the price you pay. easy to also do day trips to Venice and Verona and also hire a car.

Have just returned from a fabulous holiday in Malcesine, staying at the Villa Lisa. Just like the other reviews, the hotel has an amazing location with wonderful views across the lake to the mountains and to Limone.
We had a room on the 3rd floor, well equipped, clean and tidy and a huge cinema size window with great views across the lake and to the castle in the old town.
The Villa Lisa has a nice quiet spot that is not too far from the old town with shops and restaurants, about 15 min walk. The hotel has lovely gardens and pool area, an area for bike storage and car parking facilities.
Breakfast was very good and can be taken on the terrace if you wish.
Fabrizio, the owner was brilliant. He really was very helpful and couldnt do enough to make our stay enjoyable. He arranged the return bus transfer from Brescia airport to the main bus station in Malcesine, cost €10pp each way, was very reasonable and stress free. He even came to pick us up from the station to take us to the hotel....excellent service.
I would certainly recommend this hotel if you're planning a trip to Lake Garda and want a hotel with great location, great service, value for money and close to all the amenities.
Just wish I was back there.

What a great hotel - as the other reviews say, Fabrizio is the perfect host and all the staff are great.
We stayed in the newly built part of the hotel and were amazed it was only completed on the 17th May this year!! The landscaping is perfect. The rooftop jacuzzi unfortunately was not completed - to be installed next month I think. But the decked roof is fantastic - again views to die for!
The location is well worth the walk to & from the town. We used the TouristBus service most nights to save our legs - it runs every hour and is only €1 each (kids free). Yes - the views from the lake view rooms are definately worth the extra cost, and breakfast on the terrace overlooking the lake every morning was the perfect start to the day.
If you want excellent service, excellent rooms, views of the lake & mountains, peace & quiet at night and don't mind a bit of a walk then the Villa Lisa is the perfect hotel.
Thank you Fabrizio.

We flew into Verona Breschia and used a shared transfer minibus that had been arranged by Fabrizio - the owner of Villa Lisa. It was a very reasonable 10 euros each for the single journey that took about an hour and a half. The transfer bus dropped us at the bus station in the middle of the town.

The hotel is in a lovely location overlooking the lake, It is accessed up the road from the middle of town past the cable car station - don't make the mistake we did and think you can also access it from further along the lake front road towards Torbole and Riva as that is a no through route. Bear in mind the hotel is in a quiet location, a 15 minute walk out of town, and the return journey is up hill. It might not suit those that want to be in the heart of the action or with an aversion to walking!

We had a lake view room on the third floor (the premium for a lake view is well worth it). The room had a TV (BBC World), and nice shower room (no bath). There is also an included safety deposit box that you programme your own code into.

The pool is not huge, but is very nice. It was very relaxing to sit around it in the sunshine - the weather was good (30 degrees ish) for the first few days of our stay, but it rained heavily the day we left.

Breakfast is fairly standard european fare - breads, meats cheese, cereals etc. You can have standard coffee or cappucino, or boiling water to add a selection of tea bags to. You can also request a boiled egg.

The bar and terrace were also nice, with far reaching views to the town centre, castle, and across to Limone.

The restaurant across the road is also good, along with the "Mignon" restaurant in the middle of town.

We did lots of walks and also visited Limone by boat, and Riva by bus.

The owner Fabrizio kindly gave us a lif back to the bus station in Malcesine on our day of departure.

I would not hesitate to stay again at this property.

After our stay we carried on from Peschiera train station at the south of thje lake to Venice - see my separate review for Hotel Tritone, in Venice Mestre.

This hotel offers excellent value for money in a fabulous location. The uninterupted views from the hotel are breathtaking.
Fabrizio the hotel owner was extremely friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for us.
The hotel is within walking distance of the town - about ten minutes or so, downhill on the way into town and uphill on the way back.
The room was spotlessly clean. The 2* rating does not do it credit. The pool area is lovely, again with great views.
The breakfasts are nothing to write home about, although, as with many many hotels in the area, are aimed at the German market; meats, cheeses, cereals, brioches etc. The hotel does not serve dinner, although there is a restaurant about a minute away, and with many lovely restaurants to choose from in Malcesine itself, it want exactly a problem. Drinks are also reasonably priced for a hotel, which we took full advantage of most evenings, sitting out on the terrace bar with a bottle of wine before walking into the town for dinner.
I would recommend that you try to book early- if I can remember correctly, all rooms have views of the lake, but the rooms with the balconies (rather than the Garden terrace rooms that we were in) had better views- they were all booked up when we booked about 6 months in advance.
Overall, highly recommended!!

This was our fourth visit in four years which should serve as a recommendation to anyone. The owner Fabrizio and his staff are never anything less than welcoming, accomodating and friendly. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with some of the most stunning views available ANYWHERE - and sitting on the balcony observing a pair of eagles soaring over the lake is awe inspiring. The lack of a restaurant gives visitors the perfect excuse to sample the superb choice of cuisine in the town. The location of the hotel is perfect - far enough from the town to be quiet, but within easy walking distance after an evening out. Malcesene itself is delightful and is the perfect base for touring this wonderful area by car or better still, by boat.
We would recommend this hotel to friends, confident that our friendship would be intact upon their return!

I have just returned from a wonderful holiday in Malcesine and part of the success of this holiday goes to the Hotel Villa Lisa.
We were made to feel very welcome by the owner Fabrizio and his charming staff.
The hotel itself is kept in pristine condition and every room enjoys wonderful views of the lake.
I would recommend this hotel and Lake Garda to anyone.
