“Fantastic first time skiing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2012

My husband and I have just returned from a week's holiday in Livigno staying at Hotel Valeria. After a very long coach trip from Milan Linate, the hotel's owner, Valeria, gave us such a warm welcome. Indeed her hospitality and friendly manner continued throughout our stay. The hotel is perfectly positioned beside the beginner and a couple of blue slopes. We lierally skiied to and from the slopes every day which was great as first time skiiers our muscles were extremely tired after a couple of days. We went with the half board option through Direct Ski and were not disappointed. Breakfast opened at 8am with a good selection of cereals, fruit, yoghurt, hams and cheese, breads, pastries ..... More than enough to get the batteries started in the morning. Dinner was three courses from any of the dishes on the menu which surprised us as normally half board means a much smaller selection taken from the normal menu. Everything we ordered during the week was good quality food which we really enjoyed. Our room albeit small was perfectly formed and had everything we needed. Valeria and the staff also ensured our room was cleaned with fresh towels provided every day when we returned from the slopes. The hotel itself is on the main street beside plenty of bars, restaurants and shops. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone visting Livigno.

I stayed at Hotel Valeria for a week in April 2011 with my 2 sons.We all thought it was a great hotel.Service was good and staff were very friendly and helpful.Very clean. Well positioned and easy to get to lifts. My sons thought the food was wonderful I thought if there was a slightly weaker area then perhaps it was only this but it was still of a good standard and plenty of choice.

The Hotel Valeria made our 1 week ski trip to Livigno just perfect. The hotel backs directly onto the beginner slopes ... so close that we literally slid down the slopes home after 2 or 3 days. Handy ski / boot storage room under the car park. Delicious pizzas and lovely beers. The rooms were fab ... big bathroom, very very clean. Towels changed every day. The breakfast was included in our stay and although not fancy, it does the job and fills your belly before you head off for a morning on the slopes.
The owner is extremely welcoming and very helpful. I will definitely return to Livigno and the Hotel Valeria would be my first choice without question.

Unfortunately I was in this hotel with my family last year . I saw good opinions in internet , so I decided to choose it .That was good mystification . It was the biggest misunderstanding i have ever done before... The lady-owner is the person who regulary cheats people, probably she's the almost whole staff in this hotel , trying to do every job - as a italian miser . Breakfast is given in the basement - really ugly place , The FOOD is AWFUL without any choice , very small portions ,during the breakfast she gives a coffee or tea personally becouse of huge singt - there's no machine , to serve it by yourself - any time you wish !!! The horse-d'oeuvre bar before diner is the poorest - white and red cabbage , salad almost all the whole choise , finally main course - from restaurant menu - really nothing special .
So we were forced to seek any place to eat something good , because my wife and
son were still hungry , we were going to La Grolla - really beautiful place with grand food
of italian cuisine and nice owner MARIO - 5 minutes by walk .
By the way I'm Ski Instructor ,former competitor , so I travel a lot I was many times in Italy in various places like Madonna di Campiglio - for example hotel OBEROSLER , hotel VIDI and few others in DOLOMITI region , also in Val di Fassa - and many others in whole Europe - really nothing compare to ... IT was the worst FOOD You can imagine ...
LUKE from Cracow .

Just such a pleasure to return to this family run hotel. Valaria (owner) will give you a lovely welcome to this recently rebuilt and spotless hotel. I first came here in 1996, returned in 1998, 1999, 2004 and 2009. I will keep coming back as it is a three star hotel with ten star service. The heated boot room is at the bottom of the ramp to the heated underground carpark and get this...the ramp is heated too so you never slip or slide unless there is obscene amounts of snow. The nearest drag lift (No 22 Pian Della Volpe) is 40 meters out the back door and it is the longest drag lift on the nursury slopes, great for the warm up runs and is right next door to one of the many Ski Schools. From the top of this drag lift you can easily traverse to Chair lift 23, drag lift 24 and the all new bubble car 25 which gives you access to the Costaccia chair lifts, Vetta Blesaccia, Carosello and the brilliant Federia run.
Best of all is the food you will experience. Just perfect. But before dinner you must go to the Wellbeing Centre in the basement and enjoy the Sauna, Steamroom and the four man Jacuzzi which is a blissful way to end a hard days boarding/skiing/shopping. Try each seat in the Jacuzzi for a different massage....Bellisimo..
See you in 2010 Valeria di Cantoni. I miss you already.

Six of us went with First Choice to Livingo for a weeks ski ing/snow boarding and stopped at the hotel and what a fabulous choice we made. The hotel backs on to the slopes and there is a button lift right by the side of the hotel which you can use to reach both sides of one side of the resort. The resort is split into to 2 by a main road and although a little awkward to get to, both sides are beautiful.
The hotel has a jaccuzi, sauna and chill out beds within the wellness centre, with the use of towels and toweling robes, breakfast is good quality and we expected a buffet at night, but we had the a le carte menu each night with no buffet in sight, which made a really nice change for half board.
Valeria is an excellent host and can't do enough for you to ensure that you enjoy your stay.
Just a word of advice if you are going to Livingo - make sure that you have an evening flight on the return journey - it took us 3 hours to get out of the resort due to the one way tunnel that is the only way the major tourist companies come in - missed our flight back to Birmingham and had to have an evening Gatwick flight with a taxi back to Birmingham (19 hour transfer) and according to the staff at the airport passengers from Livingo always miss their flights if they are booked in the morning.
it didn't ruin our holiday as we did manage to spend a couple of hours in Innsbruck before flying home, its just exhausting and frustrating if the tour companies know it happens.

  • Liked — The closeness to the slopes and facilities within the hotel
  • Disliked — 2 euros for a bottle of still water at the table during dinner

A group of 9 of us stayed in Hotel Valeria in March 2008. From start to finish it was a most wonderful holiday, Hotel Valeria was a huge part of this. rooms are fresh and clean, food is superb (we did half board), Valeria (hotel owner) is a wonderful host! The jacuzzi was a total luxury after a long day on the slopes. We will be back to this hotel and resort again. A great hotel in a brilliant location.
