My partner and I stayed at the UNA for three nights in mid September 2010. It is well located, mid way between Viareggio and Forte De Marmi. It is on the coast road with the beach opposite. It has lovely gardens, a good pool and pleasant areas to sit. We booked via Expedia and suspect that we do not get the best rooms when we do this. Having said that, the room was very nice but overlooked the back of the hotel. We had a junior suite which was very large, clean and well furnished. There was lots of storage space (sometimes scarce) and two flat screen TV's. The bathroom was large and fully equipped - shower in bath (which I prefer) and a bidet. The staff were very nice. Anna supervised breakfast - very good buffet; Annassia supervised lunch - good range of snacks - but the evening meal was a disaster. My partner ordered a veggie main course. What arrived was smaller than a starter and burnt on top. I ordered a veal kebab. It looked nothing like veal or a kebab and was almost inedible. These could have been bad choices but we noticed others did not take their evening meal in the hotel. There are lots of nice restaurants nearby so we did not starve. For those making their first trip to Versilia I would recommend this hotel. We looked at several others and liked none of them. Viareggio is not very attractive, apart from a huge beach. Forte De Marmi is lovely - if expensive. The old city of Lucca is a short drive away and well worth a visit. Versilia would not be everybody's first choice for a coastal holiday but handy when Florence etc has exhausted you.

a superb hotel in a great location. Junior suite exceeded expectations, and booking direct with the hotel ppproved to be the way to getting direct rate.
Staff in the main very helpful, with special mention of Marta and her colleague on the front desk and Marie at the rooftop bar.
Free bikes offer the oppotunity to cycle and discover the area, and amongst the good restuarants La Lampara was good value.
We will definitely come again, but perhaps earlier in the year - a bit quiet in September.
Although a good time to vist Florence, Lucca and Pisa.

We stayed 4 nights at the UNA Hotel and we had a great stay.
The pool area, the american bar on the roof top, the lighting of the hotel at night, the fresh salads ate the pool bar and the decor and atmosphere are very nice.
The hotel has bikes you can borrow and you use the cycle roads along the beach to go everywhere.They upgraded our suite so we had a fantastic view and location.

The only down would be the cofffee for breakfast which taste like instant... A bit disappointing in Italy... and the carpets in the corridors need a good clean. They are white/cream and it shows.

But overall, it is a great hotel and we loved our stay there ! The resort is also really nice.

Lovery hotel in a quite location. The suites are fabulous to a high standard. A boutique type hotel. The pool was great but you had to be there early to get a li-lo. The breakfast was excellent too. All in all a great hotel.
