We stayed here as a last treat at the end of a stay in Tuscany, prior to taking the motorail up to Den Bosch. The hotel was just as we wished it to be, spacious, light comfortable rooms and with excellent service.
We booked the basic room with a balcony looking on to the woods at the side of the hotel. I cannot see any point in paying more unless you want to go for the best suites with the really good sea views. Lido di Camaiore, like most seaside resorts in Italy, has the views of the beach completely hidden by a continuous strip of beach clubs. So you need to be at the top of the hotel, fifth floor ideally, to see over the top of them. I preferred the side view and the facilities of all the rooms are pretty similar with nice balconies.
You are shown to your room, where your bags have been brought up, by a charming and friendly person who makes you feel very welcome. The public areas are spacious and the spa area is well equipped and well used by guests. We ate twice in the restaurant, as, out of season many of the other restaurants nearby are closed. The service and food were good and not unreasonably priced. The room itself has most walls of glass, so you can feel you are eating in touch with the outdoors, but without the end of season chill. The garden areas are lovely too, and I should mention bicycles are available for free. Do not be afraid to dress up, as many guests will do so in the evening although no one will make you feel out of place if you choose to be casual.
In short, we got just what we wanted, a last taste of summer before the winter to come.
One last thing, the breakfast was amazing with an emphasis on fruit. I have never seen a made to order juice bar like this in a hotel buffet breakfast. Also no bad pre made stewed filter coffee. They offer cappuccino without you having to ask for it.
