“TOP MARKS UNA”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2012

We stayed at the Una for 11 nights in August and had a brilliant time.
We had a junior suite located on the 1st floor with a view over the car park.
As usual staff were amazing. New chef also very good. I was a little apprehensive staying again this year as last year there were issues with the room and chef, especially as the two previous years had been faultless. But this year Una was back to its 5 star rating.
So glad I decided to give this hotel another try.

“Room with no view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2012

We booked our stay at this hotel through Thomson Holidays and our room was number 102.The view from the balcony of this room is a brick wall. It is quite unbelievable that a hotel of this standard should offer a room with no view. It is also unacceptable that Thompson’s should retain it as part of their allocation and fail to advise their customers of this very negative aspect. The Thomson rep said we offered a room with a balcony we did not say it had a view. A room without a sea view or a pool view is not a problem, but who would expect a room with a view of a brick wall. This is a lovely hotel, but if you prefer to see something from your balcony do not book a classic room.

Room Tip: Do not book a classic room

“Excellent Hotel with excellent staff & facilities”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2012

We stayed here for our honeymoon and cannot speak highly enough of the place.

Right from the off.. the staff on reception put us at ease, with their friendly helpful attitude.
We had a junior suite on the 3rd floor, which was kitted out with fruit, prosecco and rose petals on our large double beds(memory foam mattress) nice touch!!

Clean and spacious suite with large balcony, nice bathroom, easy to use safe, 2 large TV's(1 bedroom/1 lounge room), beds & towels changed everyday, walk in wardrobe with robes & slippers for 2 and exceptionally quiet a/c units.. (cannot understand previous reviews)???

Food in the hotel is of good quality.
Breakfast has something for everyone. Continental(hams, cheese, salmon & veg), eggs n bacon, fruit, pastries and all drinks(even more prosecco)!!
The A la carte menu is of good restaurant quality and not overpriced.
The pool and spa are great and towels are plentyful.
The bike rental was a welcome treat for discovering the local area(viareggio & forte dei marmi)

Basically the hotel is a pleasure to stay in and for the price(in italy) a enjoyable experience!!
People who have written negative reviews about this hotel must be a) royalty or b) moaning pessimists!!

Also a great location for travelling around tuscany. Pisa & Lucca are 30 mins drive.

“Very nice hotel, very pleasant staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2012

We stood there for 5 nights. The hotel is located close to the (private) beach but they keep a list of partner beach clubs which offer a 10% discount to the hotel clients. Very nice restaurant, espcially the fish dishes. We tested the massages as well ; perfect. The pool is also very nice. Special mention for the fresh fruit juice bar. Staf speaks english, german, and even some french - and of course italian. Loved the bike service, this is a great idea to discover Lido Di Camaiore. Great place to stay overall.

Room Tip: Rooms seem to be rather quiet even those close to the elevators. A/C is not noisy.

“Beware... a dangerous experience”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2012

Let us start on the one positive note........the staff were pleasant, helpful and experienced.
This is a vacation hotel for families, we were given Room 102 which was the only room they had to offer. It looked out on to a flat roof and a flank wall of an adjacent building. I presume that all the rooms above had the same non-view. This was 300 Euros per night.
The bathroom was dangerous, the plastic bath was shiny, had no mat for the in-bath shower and no handle to pull out of the bath or to grab if you were showering. The glass side panel was fixed (not hinged) and the distance between the panel and the silly blue plastic wash basin was so small that you had to be careful not to knock yourself when leaving the bath which was made difficult by having no support whatsoever.
The door handles were stylish but were flat pointed bars with no return, a terrible hazard at eye level for children and all this in a family hotel.
The in room wi-fi is expensive and not safe as my computer picked up a virus which has not yet been fixed. When I showed my compure to the staff they shrugged and said "It's a virus, it couldn't have happened here" but I can assure you it did.
We cut short our stay and left after 2 nights.
It is obvious that the owners have g

Room Tip: Do not take a room that does not have a full sea or mountain view. All A/C units are noisy.

Dear Guest,

I would like to thank you for having spent some of your time to leave your precious comment on UNA Hotel Versilia on TripAdvisor. Your comments and suggestions are most valuable and helpful to us in order to improve the quality of our service and not only meet but exceed the expectation of our Guests.
I am pleased that you were satisfied with the staff which is continuously trained to provide a personalized, friendly and at the same time professional service.
However I am really sorry to hear about your bad experience with the room and the WiFi connection. The room you had was a classic room with partial garden view. The bathroom complies with all Italian rules as well as the door handles. Honestly, since the opening in 2008, it is the first time we receive a complain about the safety from one of our Guests.
Our Hotel offers ADSL 2 + 12/1 Mbps WiFi Internet access, with at least 1 Mbps guaranteed broadband. We decided to offer a high quality service although it implies an extra charge. Anyway you can find on our website many special offers that include WiFi connection. Furthermore we went into the matter of the virus with our IT Department and, as the reception staff explained, it resulted that is technically impossible to get a virus from our Internet access.
Please accept my sincere apologies for any inconvenience this might have caused during your stay with us. I truly hope you will consider giving us another chance to show the high level of hospitality that we strive for.
