“not the city centre but you feel like the centre of the world”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013

A little difficult to find but once you get there it's a surprise in a land of surprises, unrepeatable Puglia. Reception staff are fabulous, restaurant and bar staff just as good. Standard of rooms is more a 5 star then a 4 star and the breakfast with little Apulian specialities is unforgettable. Lecce is as lucky to have such a hotel as Italy is lucky to have such a region. I can't wait to get back and fortunately I know it's going to be soon. Keep up the good work Lions.

New, fresh and clean. Contemporary minimalist furniture. Very good.

No complaints but a couple of niggles that mean we would score 4/5 over all. Room temperature was lower than we would like but it was only 3 degrees outside (yes it does get cold in the winter here) and the heating system wasn't up to it. Service at breakfast wasn't the best - the choice of food at the buffet was good but the staff could have been more attentive.

Would we stay here again? Yes.

Nice hotel on the edge of Lecce. A new hotel so everything still looking clean and tidy. It was very quiet when we were there, with well appointed rooms a short drive from city sights. Large bed and lovely bathroom. Friendly staff spoke good english.
Also just down the road going away from Lecce on the left hand side as you enter the village of Cavallino, is a restaurant with the same name as hotel. We had a delicious evening meal there- the steak was tremendous.
Tip: It was not the easiest hotel to find from the map on the website/google maps. As its a new ish hotel make sure you have updated maps on any Sat Nav system and request GPS co-ordinates from hotel!!!. Once we found it was easy to go back & forth to Lecce

In ou trip around Salento visiting the number one rated b&b and hotels for an article in our magazine, we came across Leone di Messapia...nice yes, clean yes...but so cold...nothing of the warmth and character you would expectfrom a hotel in this lovely region...not a number one...

There is not one thing that this hotel did not offer. It is new, modern, clean with lovely, quiet rooms and a staff that is friendly and offers first rate service. They spoke English and gave us maps and information on the area as well as sights worth seeing and catered to our every need and want with a smile. Our room was wonderful with a comfortable bed that allowed us a great night's sleep. It is perfect if traveling by car as there is a large parking lot right outside the front door. There is a lovely bar area in the lobby and the breakfast room is large and bright and offers a huge array of foods. It's an easy drive into Lecce, and also to get to the coastal towns such as Gallipoli and Otranto.

This hotel is located on a busy road and I would recommend it to people who travel by car or taxi. It is a short ride from the city center.
The hotel is modern and rooms are of a good size, well appointed and clean. Breakfast is fine, but nothing to write home about.
Reception staff is very friendly and attentive.

Squeaky-clean, ultra modern, luxe and seemingly brand-new hotel with the most comfortable beds in all of Italy, at a very reasonable price, at least in low season! Can't recommend highly enough. But make sure before you book this hotel that you understand EXACTLY where this hotel is (Lecce Tangenziale, Exit 11A, head toward Cavillino) or you will end up like us, hopelessly lost for 2 hours in the environs of Lecce, which is perhaps the most confusing Italian city I have ever visited. Which is saying a lot, because I have driven all over Italy during the last 20 years.

If the management of this hotel is reading this, I respectfully suggest that you make the location of the hotel much clearer on the English-language portion of your website. And please--put up a sign that can be seen from a distance. We drove within 300 meters of your hotel several times and did not know it was there.
