“2meals, twice very good”

Good food, good service, nice terrace. Centrally located. We went for aperitivo and dessert and liked it all.

“A good restaurant in the old town ow Lecce”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2012

Sellig both books and wines in addition to good food, discounted when combined, accounts for a restaurant a bit different to the rest. And it is.
Spacy and clean inside, open and fresh out-door seatings. Full service both places. If ever in Lecce, try out this place. Recommended.

“Enjoyed a lovely lunch ...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2012

I had lunch here on Sunday 22 July 2012. I wanted a nice, fresh, light lunch after eating my way through every fancy restaurant in Capri - it was time to submit to the salad! I ordered the Mediterraneo Insalata EUR8 - rocket, tomato, tuna, mini capers and mozzarella bufala. It was great. The olive bread served with it was also delicious (looks unusual - bright orange colour - speciality of the area I found out later). I always judge a place by the bread ... if they cant get that right, what hope is there?? I had some lovely local white wine - left it to Alessia my waitress to choose it (something slightly sweet). The wine list was HUGE. My white was excellent - I had 2. (EUR4 a glass). She really did a great job keeping on top of a full house of patrons. Very professional.

I noticed the other meals coming out were all beautiful - fresh, well-plated, appetising and ample portion sizes. I was sorry I did not have a bigger appetite that day. Everyone around me was complimenting the food and nothing was left on their plates.

I loved the outdoor area - lots of very cool locals - obviously the IN place to be seen for a coffee, wine or meal (clearly way too cool for me) but lovely to watch! Did I mention that Lecce has the BEST looking men of Italy?? (And I've been 7 times in 6 years - Bologna previously held this prestigious award :-) ) This restaurant is on the main drag - Via Vittorio Emanuel in a small piazza called Corte dei Cicala and only about 50m from Lecce Duomo. There is also a lovely indoor section with exposed brickwork, archways and wines on display - it felt very welcoming in there - good for winter.

“Nice place worth even returning to”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2012 via mobile

HaD lunch there in August in the square. Waiters very polite. The menu is absolutely not std, nor average. The dishes are interesting and peculiar in a nice way. We had the rice baked in the oven with clams, potatoes and zucchini and tomatoes. We also had the tuna wIth curry cous cous. Kid's menus OfTfers classics and good price like meat balls with tOmato sauce. Nevertheless all plates; including children ones; are nicely presented in large square plates well decorated.
For two aduls eatIng a single dish, one glass wine, two kiddies menues we paid 70 Euros. Expected something little less but wish not to complain since everything was well done.
A place certainly worth tryin and, why not, returning to.
Ps: inner room is well furnished and pleasant.

“Plenty of other places”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2012

The lonely planet flags this place and while its OK, there are so many better places to spend an evening in lecce. the food is sub-standard and overpriced for everything else you can find in Lecce. Decent enough for drinks and nibbles. Dont waste a dinner in here though. Staff are great however.
