“Great food in local restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

There were 4 of us and we were all very pleased with our food - mixed antipasto (different kinds of vegetables and some soft cheese), cured meats, croquettes, pasta with seafood, pasta with chick peas, sweet sausage, lamb rolls stuffed with offal. Large portions, very tasty, freshly cooked, very inexpensive but pleasant house wine. Excellent value for money. Would highly resend it. Close to Piazza del Duomo but on a side street. The Tourist Info office is nearby and they will be able to help with directions. Cost was approx 70 euros for 4 people.

“Wonderful local food and great atmosphere”

Wonderful local food and great atmosphere in the historical center of Lecce. The antipasto with a selection of local typical food of the season is highly recommendable.

“Excellent position, atmosphere and food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2013

Very Puglian food - fish and horse much in evidence. We liked it very much, ate well and were pleased with the atmosphere: a log fire and local clients rather than tourists (apart from us).

Portions are large !

We very much recommend this place and will return for sure

“Real local food, great value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2012

I ate two nights here and was bowled over by the food. The Osteria specialises in local dishes served in large portions (definitely think about sharing) at very reasonable prices. Highlights for me were an Antipasto di Mare of freshly boiled calamari, prawns and mussels dressed in oil and lemon; the Antipasto della Casa (aubergine and peppers cooked in a variety of ways); Turcinieddrhi (a roll of lamb stuffed with the heart, liver and lungs); Baccala con Patate al Forno (salt cod with potatoes served hot from the oven); and an excellent Pasticciotto, the local pastry filled with confectioner's custard. Both nights the bill came to just under 30 euros including water and the very decent house red wine. The restaurant is fairly small. There are two main rooms, one vaulted and with an open fire. The ambiance is delightful. As was the service. Along with Le Due Zie (where I ate the other night) I'd say this is an oustanding example of the virtues of Italian regional cooking. Although it was mid-week in winter, the restaurant was busy, so I'd say you'd be wise to book.
