It is incredible to a Roman Ampitheater
right in the middle of town.
Thank you Lecce. We love you.
It was so easy to visit this as is open air.

“Remakably good condition”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013

The Roman Amphitheatre is in remarkably good condition, probably because it was buried until fairly recently. It is right in the centre of the city in the main square and the 40% visible is almost intact although there was apparently another floor of which only small parts remain.

“Roman ruins right in the middle of town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2013

What was charming about this was how the city had adapted to the discovery of the amphitheater in the early 20th century. There's a museum, but we just sat on the piazza and watched the people pass. Lots of street vendors who appear out of nowhere with umbrellas when it starts to rain. Get a gelato and enjoy.

“Nice free place to sit and relax”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2013 via mobile

Right in the city centre main square, a nice place to sit and relax. In good condition but unfortunately you cannot enter the arena but only view from the street. Big.
