My wife had kept a little article on Montebelli - she stores anything that can be remotely interesting or helpful - waiting for our first opportunity to travel back to Tuscany (our favourite summer destination).

We went there with our 1 year old daughter and felt immediately comfortable and welcomed. The nature and landscape were faboulus - especially the walks to the oak tree on top of the hill and the vineyards.
The food was excellent - we loved the idea that all the vegetable came from the farm - and the Fabula (organic) wine was superb.
The service was good - not a 5 star standard (which Montebelli is not) - but always very friendly and efficient.

The week went by too fast and our next trip to Tuscany - we'll definitively go back to Montebelli - seems too far away.

Montebelli is truly beautiful. Alesandro makes sure that each guest is treated like family. The entire staff goes out of their way to make sure that you have everything you need and they do it with a warm and welcoming style that makes you feel like you are around old friends. The grounds are striking. An incredible pool, lush gardens and walking paths that make you feel that you must be in the Garden of Eden. The food is incredible. The first night we had a 5 course meal that was truly memorable. The next night we were treated to a barbeque buffet that was out of this world. Montebelli offers horseback riding on well trained Thoroughbreeds. The ride is a wonderful way to see more the estate and the cost is very reasonable. Franchesca (the mistress of the stables) even lent me her own boots so that I could ride! The rooms are large and airy and the large bathroom even comes stocked with a basket of estate produced lotions and soaps. Make sure you walk to Alesandro's meditation tree. It is a beautiful spot. You won't go wrong staying at Montebelli. You will come away relaxed, refereshed and renewed.

i am new to this site but we stayed at this hotel in may of 2002. the rooms are just ok but we are easy to please in this respect. very clean,nothing fancy. the grounds are very beautiful and the food is without a doubt the best i have ever eaten. the delicious food and wine flows over extended dinners on the patio. i would visit here again anytime.

Have just spent a week here with my wife and two year old daughter. The staff exceeded all expectations - they made us feel very welcome - and above all - made an enormous fuss of our daughter.

Perfect food, great rooms and excellent value for money. If you are looking for total relaxation - this is a great place to come.
