We were invited by our relatives in Grosseto to have lunch at Albachiara, and I must admit it turned out to be the most pleasant surprise of all.
The place is charming, and the owners, Tiziano and Simonetta, make you feel at home from the outset. The food is exquisite, it could not be better. We had tortelli with ragu' a' la maremmana, delicious. Then we had a special cut of beef, or of pork, with grilled vegetables, and those were unforgettable, too. The ricotta mousse, as a dessert, was among the best creams I have ever tasted, and it was prepared on the spot by Simonetta.
It was also very nice to hear all the stories related to the various dishes by Tiziano, who also offered some gorgeous vin santo toscano and some "nocino" (nuts liquour) which he himself prepared in the course of the last few months.
Overall, an extremely good experience that I would recommend to all people who visit Grosseto and surrounding areas.
