“great value - good location - helpful staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2009

nice hotel located only a stones throw from the beach - pebble beach that is hard on the feet but great for swimming and sun bathing - free parking on street - staff were very friendly / helpful and great english - view of mount Etna / Taormina from our room was beautiful - get the bus to taormina if your going up there 20 min and only 2.50 round trip - bus stop only 150m away - very good value for money

This was our first visit to Sicily and we were very pleased that we decided to stay at Villa Linda for a few days. A very clean hotel, buffet breakfast was very good, with plenty of choice. A quieter location, but close to the beach and some excellent restaurants within walking distance. Would definitely return to this hotel for the next holiday.

We stayed here because it was cheaper than in Taormina. Old hotel, not pristine, but affordable. Free wifi, but was difficult to connect. Also, free parking. A great deal compared to surrounding hotels that were 300-500 Euros per night.

Me and my partner picked the hotel for the price, neither of us had been to sicily before so i didnt know what to expect. We got cheap flights and randomly picked villa linda for the accomadation.

Our experience of sicily was amazing and most importantly the hotel was fantastic, out room was clean and tidy and decorated lovely with little cherubs on the wall. The balcony filled you with a taste of everything sicilian. Mount etna to your right and endless sea views to the front...Amazing.

The hotel staff were more than friendly and we seem to befriend a old man who worked there who asked us for a drink on several occasions.
The hotel was not five star which might be what you are wanting the reviews to say but at the end of the day you are going to sicily to see sicily not to sit in the hotel room so it was more than comfortable.
We were located right next to the lift so it was a little noisy at peak times but it ws fine. The beach was about 2 seconds walk and shops are within walking distance.

  • Liked — the view of the sea and etna- i will never forget it it was brill
  • Disliked — nothing

This was good value at about £50 per night, the breakfast catered quite well for the british taste. My wife and I stayed on the top floor in a double room at the front and had a great view of Etna and the sea from our balcony. The room was clean and the shower good. The girl on reception and the rest of the staff were helpful and spoke English and German. Car parking was no problem.

Eating: La Spelonca (almost under the hotel) does not look much but the food is great and good value. There are four or five restaurants within five minutes walk of Linda which were all okay for food and drinks and were the best value.

It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the main town and the beach there is nice and sandy and good for icecream and swimming. Go to Taormina for a look, very beautiful, however it is very busy and parking is a nightmare in the town. Do Etna, worth a look but it is a rip off!!

A 3 star hotel that was clean and had 3 star facilities. What made it so good was the exceptional friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. We travelled with two older people who both used wheelchairs and staff could not have been more helpful and gave excellent advice as to accessibility of places we wanted to visit, where to park etc. Any small problems we encountered with our rooms were sorted instantly and enthusiastically. Very good value for money overall.
