“Understated perfection”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

The best way to describe our stay is understated perfection. This wonderfully eco-friendly b&b is bursting with intimacy and warmth yet also provides the necessary privacy and reflection in a peaceful and revitalising setting. It does not make any loud footprints and rather lives in harmony with its surroundings. Our hosts were generous and hospitable and extremely professional. The amenities were modern but all with a wonderfully rustic flavour with great balcony views of Lake Garda. This was a 10 out of 10 experience but the icing on the cake was Luca's kitchen. Don't bother eating anywhere else for dinner - fresh, flavoursome and wholesome. Fantasic location to explore the region. It was wonderful looking forward to breakfast with amazing views each morning. Note that the narrow roads leading up to the gates can be a bit scary until you get used to it!

We're very happy to have passed a perfect week in this great and special place with the focus on the pure sense of all things. The excelent and very fresh dishes (incl. breakfast) of every day prepared by Luca and his team, the charming service and the comfortable and clean accomodation have been just a few (but important) highlights during our stay.
We recommend it to everybody which looks for something special and inspiring and...make sure to don't miss the dinners!...we're going to come back for sure!!

Loved our three night stay in early September. Luca and his small team were amazing and unforgettable. Perfect space for a relaxing time when not on day trips in the Gardone area. A great luxury B&B in a beautiful region!

The food was impeccable (fresh, natural, mainly from on-site farm) and though the entree selection was not huge, everything could be customized to our liking. Luca even made me special mint tea from the garden one night. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and healthy. They do allow you to keep a few personal food/beverage items in their fridge. Lake views were stunning from the yard and dining area. Their dining area is open to the public in the evening, so be sure to communicate when you will be dining.

Our cozy room was very clean and fresh (the house is very new, but has an old world feel). Completely chemical free which I loved! The linens and products (home made I think) were amazing. Would definitely opt for upgrading to the room with the lake view, but our garden view was still lovely and we enjoyed our private lounging area. This is a tech-free space, so no TV's in the room which was perfect. There were plenty of magazines and books (Luca brought out a large photography book since I don't speak Italian :). It is a working farm, so you will hear some activity in the mornings. The pool was clean, well designed but not heated. I wish we could have explored the workings of the farm a bit more.

Although only a mile from the Lake, the B&B is remote in the sense that you must take a car 10 minutes to get to places and these roads are narrow and steep. We did try hiking around some of the streets near the B&B and it was challenging but fun. We went to Heller Gardens (good for kids), I would recommend Il Vittoriale instead. Our day trip to Riva (great shopping!) was a nice change of pace to the smaller Gardone area.

Room Tip: Upgrade to lake view, these rooms also have a firepit on the balcony, very romantic!

The drive up the hill to Due di Moro was harrowing the first time and we were grateful to make it without a mishap. Luca greeted us and promptly offered us some fresh, sweet cherries. After showing us to our room (number 2) he pointed out the pool and explained that dinner was at 7:30. The view of Lake Garda from our room's terrace was spectacular as was the view from the pool. Comfortable pool chaises made sun bathing a relaxing treat. The room's aesthetics were rustic yet modern. The stone floors were cool and the bed was very comfortable with crisp white sheets. The shower had good water pressure and there was a small amount of room to store cosmetics by the sink. We stayed for two nights and enjoyed dinner there both nights. Luca made wonderful pastas both nights and accommodated my vegetarianism with vegetables and fish. Dessert the first night was a cherry clafoutis and the second night was homemade gelati and chocolate mousse. Wonderful! Unless you are afraid of driving up a steep, narrow, hilly road, I recommend you stay at Due di Moro.

Food is really wonderful gathered from the organic garden or from local suppliers using whatever is in season. The breakfast was outstanding with, among other treats, fresh picked peaches and home made conserves - glorious. The rooms are simple with fans and a system to reduce electrical noise. Bathrooms well fitted. We loved our stay and were made very welcome in a very relaxed way. We will go again.

Room Tip: Room 5 has a sitting area with view. Other rooms have balconies with view.

We travel a lot in Italy and always choose B and Bs for the more personal experience.
Due di Moro was the best experience we've had so far and will be hard to top.
The views are amazing, the rooms, the interior decor all done with the most attention to detail, the materials for the beautifully restored villa ooze character and are all built according to the principles of sustainable housing. The sense of tranquility, the smell of the eco herb garden, the fabulous pool with the breathtaking views of Lake Garda made this place paradise-like. We had pleasure of dining at Due Di Moro and highly recomment this ecological restaurant! We will definitely be back, for a much longer stay next time.
