“Would stay nowhere else”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

This was our 5th stay here and as ever the welcome from Paolo and his family is second to none. On this occasion we stayed for 2 weeks but have done weekly stays before. The apartments are always very clean as is the entire property. The family who run it are always so welcoming and are always willing to give good helpful advice on where to go, how to get there, what to do etc. Although the apartments are approx 15 min walk from main Garda town we find this no problem as the walk is pleasant (up hill on slight incline coming back from town) and gives you a chance to work off the delicious food from some fab local restaurants.! The pool is large and very clean and has a separate sectioned off area for children. We would certainly recommend Villa Rosa to anyone considering going to Lake Garda and will hopefully be returning again soon.

We recently travelled as a family group to Garda, staying at Residence Villa Rosa - the tenth time we have stayed there. As the other reviews say, the Bertame family could not be more welcoming - less like a paying guest and more a family friend. The apartments are spacious and very comfortable and, surprisingly cool enough at nights, bearing in mind we had day temperatures of 38 C this year! Like the apartments, the large pool is immaculately clean and just what you need on a hot day. Prices for drinks and food at the bar are extremely reasonable. There is a large bbq area and lots of sport facilities on site and also at Gardaqua which has a good fitness suite (free entry). There are many things to do at Lake Garda, the weather always seems to be fine, the food brilliant and Residence Villa Rosa the perfect place to stay.

If anyone is looking for an excellent location, apartment and place to stay then you couldn't get much better than this. A fantastic family who made you feel welcome from the minute you arrived to the minute you left. Paolo and Barbara gave us excellent advice about where to visit and we also met some lovely people (Paul you are a star for writing out where to go!). The apartment was lovely and clean, the pool was great to jump into and cool down, and the weather was absolutely gorgeous. A nice touch was free passes to a local gym which we made use of and also a free parking space near to the centre of Garda. Perfect holiday, perfect location and an absolute pleasure to meet the Fam Bertrame - definately will return when back in that area.

Room Tip: Book early !

Stayed here for a week - good value, Very friendly and helpful staff, family run, all speak Italian and some German, but several also very good in English. Apartments require Saturday to Saturday let. Studio, 1 and 2 bed apartments available - we went for the studio, since we were operating on a budget.

Apartments clean and tidy, with basics for cooking etc. all have balcony and swimming pool is great. Fairly family-oriented, pool can be a bit noisy with kids, but there is also garden space for sunbathing, a BBQ area or always your own balcony.

Apartments are set a good 10-15 minute walk out of the lake front area, on one of the main roads. Road can be a bit noisy at times. Great if you have your own/ hire car. They also have a parking area closer to the town, free of charge. There are a few hotels/ restaurants/ cafes on this street as part of the walk ino town.

Supermarkets within walking distance, Bar serves drinks, as well as snacks such as ice cream and crisps etc. All in all great for the purpose, a cheap week in Garda combined with economoy fllight from the UK was half the price of many packages. Even including hire car for a week it was substantially cheaper, to a good standard.

We have just returned from our ninth stay at RVR. It has just won a Dutch award as the best residence in Garda and it is easy to see why. Location just ten minutes walk from Garda - though RVR has its own parking area in the town. The apartments are spacious, smart and always immaculately clean. The pool is very large and you never feel that there's not enough room to swim or play games. The facilities are excellent: tennis, sports field, keep fit and a bar which offers a wide range of food and drink at very reasonable prices. The best feature, though, is the Bertame family who run RVR - they cannot do enough to make your stay memorable, providing advice on where to visit or have a meal - they could not be more welcoming. Garda is one of the most attractive towns on Lake Garda with excellent position for the many attractions that are available. With the lake, the nearby mountains and the food - it's a first rate destination for a family holiday. And if you visit Lake Garda you will do well to stay ina better place that Residence Villa Rosa.

Room Tip: Book early as the Residence is invariably full in peak season

The weather was superb, the accomodation was very comfortable, clean and well managed and generally the facilities were great.
The family were very kind and friendly as usual and made the stay as enjoyable as possible. I would recommend Villa Rosa to anyone wanting a great value and well located enjoyable stay.
Ideal fopr families, I had 3 children and found it to be very comfortable.
Here's to the next time.

Room Tip: Pick the top of the range room for 2 or more children staying

Thanks to a cancellation, we were fortunate to get a room (really an apartment) here at the very last minute (but in general, you'll need to book early to ensure a room). Our apartment was very large, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a nice kitchen, and a huge balcony with a fantastic view to Lake Garda. As has been mentioned here many times, the family that owns and operates this hotel was so nice and helpful. They were always around making sure the guests were happy. One of the owners told me some of his guests had been coming back for over 20 years! And I can see why. It's great for families. The pool is large. The entire enclosed complex offers lots of possibilities (football pitch where pick-up games were common, tennis, playground, etc.). It's also a short drive to the lake (5 minutes), and the hotel has it's own, free parking lot near the water, so you won't have to pay for parking (it was a 5 minute walk to the water from their private parking lot). Lake Garda itself is beautiful, and there are plenty of other options within a 20 minute drive from this hotel to keep the kids happy (water parks, Gardaland, etc.). While it's true you have no air conditioning, the bedroom ceiling fans worked fine, and I slept like a baby. Highly recommended.
