“Nice hotel, great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2012 via mobile

We stayed here for 3 nights.
Pros:
The room was very big.
The location is wonderful, right on the lake's boardwalk and close to the restaurant area.
The breakfast is excellent, great coffee.
The price is very affordable.
Private parking free of charge.

Cons:
The bed was two twin beds put together into a double. It wasn't so comfortable.
The room could be a bit cleaner.

Overall recommended.

Ideal location for viewing the lake, strolling along the front to the many restaurants and shops and walking further afield to Bardolino. The hotel only offers bad and breakfast which is what I wanted but there is a small supermarket close by within a short walking distance that sells lovely fruit, cheese and wine which I took back to my balcony occasionally when I only felt like a snack. Less than 10 minutes walk to the lake ferry terminal. The hotel does not have a pool but you can use the pool of the Continental hotel. Between 4-6 the Terminus lays out a complementary tea and cakes each afternoon which is welcome if you are in the resort. You can take this in their small garden or under their cool veranda where you have breakfast each day.

Room Tip: My expectation was low as I am a single traveller but the room had a lovely view of the lake, a balc...

Spent a very hot week in this hotel, the lack of proper air conditioning was a big miss also fridge. The owner needs to learn how to smile, he doesn't like you asking for ice!
Very clean, spacious rooms, excellent breakfast, nice sun terrace, shame no pool, without too much expense I think this hotel could be made into something very special due to its superb location, gardens well maintained, just a pity small items missing meant so much.

Room Tip: If possible lake view, side rooms can be noisy

We spent a lovely week in Garda in May at this hotel. We had read previous reviews and were aware the bedrooms were fairly basic but we were still surprised when we saw the room - very old fashioned wallpaper etc,etc but on a positive note it was all very clean. The staff are really pleasant and very helpful. The breakfasts are very fresh and there's a good choice of hot and cold food. Afternoon tea is served every day with fresh cake and cookies - in the front garden overlooking the lake. Garda is a great place to visit with plenty of shops, cafes and amazing views all along the promenade. It's in a good position to easily visit many other places either by bus or ferry. Easy walk to Bardolino and Lazise. This hotel does need some work on it to bring it up to date and when that is done it will definitely score an excellent because all the other requirements for a really great holiday are present.

Room Tip: Lake view rooms are definitely worth the supplement

Had generally very good stay at this hotel. But it's an old building in need of some TLC. Windows etc in need of repair and place is a bit down at heel in some respects. No Air Con or fridge in room a slight annoyance given summer temps in Garda. Shower was fiddly but worked ok in the end. The new owners probably know of these minor difficulties and no doubt have improvements in mind so this not intended as anything other than a positive review. Supreme location on lakeside and spotless room with daily cleaning was also impressive so book with confidence. Staff efficient and friendly ish. I say this because all the reception staff were a bit grumpy in general and could be a bit frosty on occasion. A smile costs nothing after all. We enjoyed our time there and would return without question hopefully to see a bit of a refurb having been carried out.

Room Tip: Make sure to get lake facing room with balcony.

Stayed at the Terminus for a week with my wife and her parents.

The location is great. Worth staying here just for that. Its right on the lake and just a short walk to the centre of town where most of the restaurants and bars are. Although there are still plenty near the hotel.

Breakfast was really good. Lots to choose from and a nice outdoor setting.

From 4 until 6 each evening they lay on complimentary tea, cake and chocolate cookies. This was a nice touch and a good way to round off a day's sightseeing in the 35 degree heat.

The ladies working there were all very friendly. And they all seem to appreciate the effort if you try out some Italian.

Although it didn't spoil our stay, the hotel could benefit from a revamp. Its all a bit dated and in need of new bathrooms and the introduction of air con. We had a decent ceiling fan though but some rooms just have desk fans that you would find in an office.

Part of the ceiling fell in in my in-laws' room. They were moved to another room without fuss and given a bottle of Prosecco as an apology. Really good service.

We had a great time here and recommend it

My wife and I had a wonderful stay here at the beginning of June. Lovely hotel with friendly and helpful staff. We had a really nice room with a fabulous view of the lake. The room was a decent size as was the ensuite toilet. Everything was spotlessly clean as well. Location is superb, the lake is right on your doorstep and only a two minute walk into the centre of Garda, and the walk is glorious along the lakeside. The buffet breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice between hot and cold food and there is a lovely terrace outside the dining room to enjoy it in.
Plenty of restaurants and bars only a short walk away. As other reviewers have said, boat trips are excellent, really enjoyed the sail to Sirmione(18 euros return), the castle there is amazing as is the town, so picturesque. Other highlights are Malchesine, Limone and Riga, these are all a must see. Malchesine (45min) and Riga (1 hr) are easy to get to by bus, which are frequent. Limone (9 euros return) is only a 20min boat ride across the lake from Malchesine.
A wonderful holiday, and would definitely stay at the Terminus again if we return to Garda. The only minus was a lack of air conditioning in the rooms, not a problem in June as there was an excellent fan, but in August it could get a bit uncomfortable.
One last word of praise for the owners who kindly put together a packed breakfast for us as we were leaving early for the airport. There was enough food and drinks, which was superb, for a family of six. Thanks so much again for a great stay.

Room Tip: Definitely pay the extra for a lakeside view, worth every penny. We had a corner room which was love...
