“Great hotel in Garda”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2013

We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Garden, it is a delightful small hotel (36 rooms)
a stones throw from the town of Garda. There are wonderful views from the garden
and whirlpool. The rooms are very clean with nice toiletries. The staff are really customer
friendly and very helpful. The food is very good, but sometimes a big strange, in that
eg there is a choice at dinner, but some main courses are a bit odd for the British taste,
melon and parma ham, - mozzeralla and tomato - prawn cocktail. more likely a starter. However the rest
of the menu was fine, and impeccably served and presented. Highly recommended, go if you
can, enjoy the hotel and the beautiful scenery and trips around the lake.

Room Tip: Try to book a lake view room with a balcony, they are stunning

Just returned from 5 days staying in the family run Garden hotel where the staff really do everything they can to make you feel at home .Room was large, clean and with everything you need for a great holiday. Breakfast very good and sets you up for the day. Excellent value with free transfers from airport and free excursions etc. thrown in. Hotel is superbly located just a 200m stroll from the lakeside and the ferry stop making it ideal for exploring other resorts on Lake Garda. Hotel has an immaculate pool area and a gym, however as we were on holiday we gave this a miss !!! As other reviewers have said the staff are brilliant and nothing is too much trouble This is our second visit to the hotel and we certainly will be back.

Room Tip: Top tip, pay extra and get a lake facing room you will not regret it.

This hotel states that it 'Feels like home' in its literature and really does live up to the claim. It is a family run hotel where all the staff really do appear to be part of a family and where everyone does everything possible in a helpful and friendly manner to make the guests feel very welcome and to ensure that the holiday experience is perfect. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the food is excellent. There appeared to be a very high number of repeat visitors and this is a testament to the quality of the hotel.

Room Tip: Go for the lakeside view rooms

Spent ten days at this hotel:- Staff from Luigi the manager downwards all diligent and attentive, public rooms well decorated, bedrooms a bit tired but all scrupulously clean. Would have no hesitation in recommending a stay.

We have stayed in Garda on several occasions but this was the first time at this hotel . The hotel is very traditional and quite formal , especially at dinner which was not a problem for us but might prove a little too formal for others who enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere. The hotel was lovely and offered more than enough amenities to keep guests happy come rain or shine . The pool area was immaculately clean and catered well for people wishing to spend all or part of the day there ; sunbeds were plentiful and spread to give a degree of privacy.

The staff were all very pleasant and attentive and were eager to answer even the most inane questions . I agree with previous comments which recommend paying the extra for a lake view room , ours had a large balcony with plenty of room to spread out . The room itself was not overly large , but that was not a problem for us , although the tiny shower in the bathroom was a squeeze even for my frame.

Breakfast was the usual vast spread of ham, cheeses , breads , cereals fruit , yogurt etc. Eggs were available , if required. The quality and choice of food at dinner was excellent ; a good and varied salad selection to start followed by three courses . My only comment on the dining room would be that it was deadly quiet , causing people to speak in hushed tones ;in my opinion, a little tasteful background music would have helped.

The hotel was situated within a very few minutes walk to the wonderful town centre . Be sure to take a walk after dinner as there is lots happening by the lakeside .

All in all a very enjoyable holiday at a good friendly hotel .

This was our first visit to Hotel Garden, but we were very impressed with all aspects. The service was excellent, and we enjoyed mading use of the free bike hire to explore the area. We were in a good location, and were given lots of advice about where to go and what to do. We also appreciated the free transfers to and from Verona. All in all, I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms on the front have a better view and balcony.
