“Tranquil and lovely hotel. Excellent location and service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2011

While driving through northern Italy, we found this hotel by chance at the local tourist office in Garda. Our original thought was to spend one night by the lake, but we loved it so much that we ended up spending almost a week at the hotel. The service was impeccable - the staff was attentive, professional, friendly and nonintrusive - making the whole atmosphere tranquil and mellow.

The location of the hotel is excellent - it is situated only a short (4 min) walk from the center of Garda and yet secluded from the tourist frenzy of the town. We stayed in two different rooms which both overlooked the lake, the pool area and tennis courts. Our first room (on the top floor) was quite spacious and had a nice balcony. The second one (one floor below) was smaller but had a larger balcony. The bathrooms were perhaps a little bit on the small side (especially the shower), but clean and nice.

We did not have dinner at the restaurant, but we enjoyed both the breakfast buffet, lunch by the pool and drinks in the bar.

The hotel offers free parking and also free WIFI in the lobby area. (In our first room we actually had a decent but somewhat unstable signal, in our second room it was gone.)

Room Tip: Get a room with a lake side view! Also, we got a great deal at the local tourist office. It might be...

We really enjoyed our stay at the Garden Hotel and would certainly highly recommend it but we would not advise anyone to book the side lake view as it is not worth the supplement as the room and balcony are very small but would highly recommend paying the supplement for the full lake view where the rooms are much nicer, larger and with bigger balconies. The food is delicious and the staff and waiters are really lovely also the facilities are very good and the hotel is in a lovely quiet position. You have the choice of being in the full sun around the pool or there is a lovely garden which provides more shade. We would most certainly return to this hotel but would only want the full lake room next time.

Room Tip: Would not book the side lake view room

This hotel is located just a couple of minutes from the lakeside hence the lovely views and away from the immediate bustle of the town. The family and staff are all very helpful and friendly. We would recommend a room on the front of the hotel with views of the swimming pool and then the lake. There is plenty of space around the pool for everybody to sit without feeling crowded with an excellent bar service. We shall definitely return for another visit.

Been to Lake Garda several times; have decided that Garda is the best resort, and we found the Garden Hotel to be ideal. Excellent location for the town and lake, with a lovely garden and pool area to relax in. Staff were excellent and could not be more helpful, and all spoke very good English. The food was typically Italian, and there was very good wine list. Are going back to the hotel next year with friends.

Visiting Hotel Garda, at Lake Garda, was an experience we will never forget. We had travelled with our three-months daughter and found the location and mainly the hotel staff as professional as hotel employees could ever be. Service is their main objective - starting from the manager to the clerk guys, the waiters and the cleaning ladies.
This place should be your first choice when visiting the area, or even when travelling other places - we had used it as a base to travel Venice and Verona as well.

We stayed at this hotel 2 years ago and have wanted to go back ever since. The hotel offers half board with a 3 course dinner and a saladbar. You can chose from 4 different alternatives for each course and these changes every day. Be sure to be there at Sunday evening when a free welcome drink is offered.

This hotel is to be recomended for its food staff it is a family run hotel and the staff care about the quality of service given to their guests.

We had a mountain view room but I wish we had paid extra for the Lake view as the roons are also bigger.
