“FANTASTICO ...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2014

just returned from this beautiful hotel and we loved it .., the staff on reception were always friendly and very helpful , the waitresses at breakfast were attentive and very efficient ( loved the freshly cooked omelettes every morning ) .., Hotel all around was spotlessly clean so hats off to all the team at the hotel , but the best thing for us was our room , as it was a special birthday for the better half we paid the extra for a top floor deluxe room at the front of the hotel (Room 408) ..., Wow , beautiful room with a wonderful large terrace , including a table, 2 chairs , 2 sunbeds with a parasol , also we got the sun all day .., but best of all , a simply wonderful uninterrupted view of the Lake .., Fantastic

My wife and I stayed here in May celebrating our silver wedding anniverary. We chose this hotel on the back of the many glowing reviews from previous travellers and can say for certain that they were absolutely correct in the wonderful reviews of this hotel and the staff from cleaners to management who will do anything they can to help and make the stay perfect. Our superior lake side view room was very pleasant and spotlessly clean, We stayed on half board basis and the food was amazing we especially liked the gourmet evening. The afternoon tea with yummy cakes at 4pm was a lovely little treat. The hotel is in a great location overlooking the lake, minutes from the ferry and short walk to the bus station. We visited Bardolino, Sirmione and Lazise travelling by ferry and both are worth visiting especially the market at Bardolino.Verona is only 50 minutes away on the bus 16 euro return for us both and what a lovely city. The hotel also appears to attract really nice visitors too! We spent some lovely evenings with new friends from Scotland,Sandbach,Lowton and Sherwood forest and others we from all over the UK.We have never in the past however much we have enjoyed a holiday said we would return preferring to go somewhere different but this hotel has changed our minds and we will definitely be back next year to see Vito, Dina and all the other wonderful staff. Thank you for a wonderful stay. .

My Wife and i recently stayed at the Hotel Excelsior Le Terrazze on a B & B basis for 12 nights. From day one we knew that this place was something special. Yes - you have stunning views of Lake Garda and a very nicely laid out Hotel - but you also get the nicest and most accommodating Staff that you could wish for. Our initial Taxi transfer problem from Peschiera Station was quickly resolved by Sorina on Reception and a bottle of chilled Prosecco and some lovely Strawberries placed in our room to cheer us up - very nicely (!!) - on arrival.
As others have already said, the Restaurant was excellent (we ate there 6 out of 12 nights) and Vito and his team were always on hand with friendly smiles and greetings. We cannot emphasise enough, just how friendly and attentive they all were - Grazie!! Our Room was very nicely finished with a lovely side lake view that was so stunning each morning when we woke up. The pool was absolutely fine - although a little chilly in May - with a wonderful view over the lake and offered a great opportunity to meet fellow guests.
The complimentary 4 o'clock Tea and Cake service was another nice touch by the Hotel - and irresistable, no matter how big a lunch you may have had each day!!
Garda is a very pretty town with an excellent promenade for early morning, or evening, walks and is a great base to explore the rest of the lake from. We took convenient buses and ferries to many of the towns and villages around the lake - all with something interesting to attract us - but were always glad to get back to Garda and the Hotel Excelsior Le Terrazze. We also enjoyed renting some bikes and cycling to the neighbouring Towns of Bardolino and Lazise on the very convenient cycle/walking path that runs along the lake shore from Garda.
We were also lucky to have met some very nice people from the UK during our stay from Manchester, Sandbach and Guidford (you know who you are!!) - and Germany - all of whom were great company and made our stay even more special. This was our first visit to Lake Garda and we fully intend to come back soon - on the basis that we can stay at the fantastic Hotel Excelsior Le Terrazze again!!

After reading such wonderful reviews on here, I enquired as to a two night stay but unfortunately was told that the minimum stay at this hotel is 4 nights - just wanted to share in case anyone else is travelling through to save the enquiry.

Stayed here for 10 nights on our first visit to Garda . What a beautiful place in a perfect setting . I am a coeliac and nothing was to much trouble for them with alternatives provided when necessary. Vito and his team of beautiful ladies always had a smile for you . In fact everyone from the cleaners to reception to kitchen staff were also very friendly whilst doing an excellent job. THe hotel has a really friendly atmosphere and we met some great people from Scotland in the North to the far South. All made for a great holiday. We will be back next year.

The Excelsior le Terrazze has rave reviews but we were very disappointed because they do not turn on the air conditioning until June. We went in May when it was 25 degrees outside and the rooms were stuffy and unbearably hot. If you open the sliding balcony door you get midges and traffic noise. We felt the staff were charming but continuous apologists for the invisible management/ owners. Pool is lovely and the hotel is clean but very poor value for money in our view.

Dear Mike, I am sorry to read this review, we did have a few hot days in May but at night the temperature dropped to 15 degrees and no other client asked for air conditioning, I must say that up to a few days before your arrival we were still using central heating in the bathrooms ...
