Despite a very good location, we thought this hotel was a bit on the tatty side. The holiday was spoilt because the hotel refused to give us dinner on our last evening so although we had paid for 7 dinners we only got 6. They said that a plate of cold meat and cheese which greeted us in our room at 4.00 am when we arrived was supposed to be dinner for the night before! We could only have dinner if we paid an extra 45 Euros - a ludicrous amount.

From the moment we were handed metal keys, I was worried. The rooms were tiny and tacky. The shower was dark (as were the corridors), the bathroom like a corridor. The kosher starters (anti pasti) were great but the main meal was like not very good school food. The fruit was scant, the shaving cream desserts plentiful. After three days, I had had enough of it. The one good thing was that it was a stone's throw from the beach. There were 2 pools but one was freezing. The other one was crowded. I will never go back there. Life is too short.

This was a lovely, restful 2 night interlude in what was otherwise a hectic tour of Italy. For kosher travelers, it is a very nice alternative to city hotels. The kosher buffet was plentiful and food was decent. We would consider a revisit.

Just to redress the balance when we read last year some terrible reports of this hotel.

Despite the adverse reports we stuck with our travel plans and had a great time at the very comfortable and well located Michelacci Hotel. Very nice sea facing room with balcony and well fitted en-suite facilities, friendly staff and ready access to the delightful beach and resort of Gabbice Mare and beyond to Rimini.

Dont be put off by the Kosher references, these facilities are quite separate from the main hotel facilities which are typical of most quality hotels in Italy.

The hotel is extremely well situated overlooking the beach with an attractive square to one side.

Our room was reasonably spacious by Italian hotel standards, it was clean and everything worked. We had a decent sized balcony overlooking the square with side view of the sea. The bathroom was clean with a fairly large shower. The corridor outside our room was underlit to the extent that I had to fit the key in the lock by touch.

We found the staff very helpful and polite, both at reception and in the restaurants (we were in the non-kosher restaurants). The service at dinner was good and the quality of the food was fairly high; it was also extremely good value as a half-board option. The breakfast was not as good (cheap, tasteless croissants; tinned fruit) although the staff were efficient and the view from the terrace was lovely.

The pools were fine and we often had them more or less to ourselves. This is a big hotel but it never felt crowded. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The area is beautiful, right on the beach, and close to lots of kid-friendly attractions. But the hotel is in horrific condition. We drove to the hotel and no one there was able to give us normal directions, so we drove around until we found it. The Netzers were accomodating and gave us a late supper, after which we went to our rooms. Words cannot describe our shock at the hostel-like rooms. One room stank, there were no bathtubs (we were traveling with 3 small children), the room had not been cleaned- the previous occupant's soap was still in the bathroom, and it was thoroughly dirty. The following day, despite protestations from the management that the entire hotel was in the same condition, we insisted on seeing the "newer" wing. It was certainly an improvement, but still greatly lacking.
With the exception of one concierge, the hotel staff was unhelpful and almost rude.
The upside of the trip was the food and service in the kosher dining room, which was delicious, plentiful, and gracious . The overall atmosphere was pleasant, and we enjoyed the company of the other guests.
