“Surprisingly interesting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2012

Forte dei Marmi has become Moscow on the Mediterranean. its a delightful place; furiously trendy with the upper middle classes in the summer, and pretty depressing in the winter. It is a miracle that Lorenzo continues to work so well in an environment where he could get away with so much less (and ask for so much more). The decor is bright and tasteful; modern and welcoming. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The food will knock your socks off. Very very very fresh seafood, served raw if you want, plus some interesting dishes which all display real skill and technique. Everything is cooked just right, resulting in very clean, fresh and lively dishes. No overload here. Real finesse, in the European sense. The wine list is excellent too, with a broad range of very good producers from across Italy. Plenty of expensive labels if you need that, but also lots of reasonable bottles of high quality if you prefer. it would be a shame to miss Lorenzo if you have 200 euros to spend on a dinner for two.

“Not to be missed!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2012

Amazing fish, superlatively fresh and cooked with such imagination and skill! It is an absolutely first-class restaurant well deserving of its Michelin rating and you should make a point of going there if you are anywhere near it. Well worth the trip!

“Great restaurant but very particular type of food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2011

We made a reservation since this is not type of place you just walk into. Yes a lot of beautiful people but all that aside.. I had their signature pasta with seafood. It was fantastic.

I would say look at the menu before you go, the food is great but you must like the particular style of cooking or you may be disappointed. I would not miss this restaurant while visiting forte dei marmi.

Our wait staff were wonderful, attentive good recommendations on food and spoke perfect English.

“All very good except for Lorenzo himself”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2011

Food very good. Reasonable value in such an expensive resort, but oh dear Lorenzo himself is awful. Treats customers he does not know with total disdain, and sycophantically sucks up to any rich and famous who are there
