“Lovely hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2014

We used Forte dei Marmi as a base to travel to other areas: Lucca, Pisa. Cinque Terre. Receptionist, Letizia was amazing in helping us with train schedules etc. as well as what to do locally. Although slightly small, room was nice and clean. Lobby pretty and pool was very nice. Beach clubs are close by.
Breakfast was great. The waiters were pleasant and cheerful. Giulio was always ready to help.
Would definitely come back ❤️

Logos Hotel is is a very pleasant Hotel, the rooms are great, nice lobby and reception, good bar, fantastic breakfast, lovely pool, and caters well for infants. So you may ask why I am rating at 3 rather than 5. The hotel sets the air conditioning in the rooms based on their own timetables rather the chosen temperature of the guest, and is only on from 7pm to 1am for all rooms. What a shame

We booked this holiday on the spur of the moment, we hadn't heard of Forte dei Marmi before and just thought the Tuscan Riveiria would be a beach type holiday.
When we arrived at the hotel it looked quite classy from the outside and also in the reception. The room did not live up to what we were expecting after seeing the lobby. Things did not start well, the boy showing us to the room put the card in the electric and it didn't work, he tried a couple of times then opened the fuse box and flipped some switches. He said something in Italian went away and then came back with a box that he changed in the wall hoping to make the electric work- it didn't, so he left the fuses flipped. It was after he went we realised he hadn't tried the card in the door - it didn't work that either. We saw a cleaner and she got us a key for the door. The room was not spectactular but we thought it would do. The next morning we changed our minds as getting out of the bed we found a puddle from where he fridge had leaked - this wasn't a new leak as you could see marks on the plinth and wall from the damp. We complained to reception and were moved to another room on the front of the hotel with a balcony. This was a much better room.
We were on a bed and breakfast basis, we couldn't get any other meals at the hotel as it was classed as out of season, although when coach parties arrived they already had evening meals arranged for them. We did not eat in Forte dei Marmi town as it was very expensive, but instead ate at the more local restaurants, but even these were not cheap unless you only wanted pizza. For 2 people we were paying about 70-90 euros for just a main meal & wine.

Something we found out about Forte dei Marmi was that it is one of the most expensive parts of Italy as it is where many Italian and Russian millionares have their summer homes. This is why so many homes looked closed down. It seems that September is the end of the season and you can't even book an organised trip anywhere after then. In the town the prices do not go down when the season is over though.
Even trying to get onto the beach is a bit of a mission. Most of the beach is not easily accessible as the restaurants, bars etc tend to block the access. We ended up walking down to the pier, we got on the beach,( which is divided up for each property and apparently is very regimented with beach umbrellas in summer) and walked along but then had trouble trying to get off again. We only managed to get off when we found one bar open so we could walk through.
Travel is possible via buses and trains, which are cheap. The downside is a 10min walk to the bus stop for a bus that goes every hour and gets to the station 5 mins after the train has left. Or else the train is often delayed by up to 50 mins. Taxis to the train station are about 17euros, but can be 25 euros if you ask at the station ticket office coming back (they charge an agency fee for phoning for you).

The reception staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful and used to print off the train timetables for us.

If you go to Forte dei Marmi take lots of money and walking shoes especially if you forget to take your driving licence..

We stayed 5 nights in this hotel. As the other reviews say, the rooms are a bit on the small side for a four star hotel, but are very clean and many have balconies or outside area. The surrounding gardens are lovely and the overall impression is very verdant - even in mid-september. The reception staff are extremely helpful, though the serving staff leave a bit to be desired. They didn't seem very experienced and took ages to bring us our wine! The deserts were also lacking in imagination - it was as though the chef's training had stopped at deserts as all the other dishes were really good. The hotel was also extremely quiet with no night life whatsoever. By 10 o'clock on a saturday night everyone seemed to have gone to bed!

If you don't have a car this is not a great area to stay if you want to explore the area, which is a rather characterless beach resort. A long walk into Forte dei Marmi, with a very limited bus service (one an hour! and difficult to work out the timetable). If you want to use the trains, they never seem to link up with the buses and cabs are very expensive for the 10 min. trip ranging from 17 euros to 23, depending on the driver. That being said, the trains are reasonably reliable and cheap and it is relatively easy to get to Lucca, Pisa and Florence from Forte dei Marmi or the larger Viareggio, which is up the coast (but this is nothing to write home about either). We were very disappointed with the area on the whole, which as another reviewer said did not feel very 'Italian' and could have been anywhere in Europe!

Room Tip: The annex rooms on the first floor are very small so I'd avoid them if you can.

We stayed in logos hotel for 2 nights then had to check out and find another hotel immediately. Rooms are too small and dirty and we could barely move. First night we slept was the worst night of our lives, the air conditioning was making a horrible sound all night long and then it stopped working at around 5 a.m in AUGUST, we waited till 8:00 am to inform the reception and their only answer was, sorry you could have informed us at 5:00 am, unfortunately now we can do nothing about it. We kept asking to see the manager for 2 days in a row but he/she kept hiding and the staff kept on informing us that the manager is not available, i mean what kind of a hotel that has no manager??!! we were shocked.

Staff were completely and shockingly rude, bunch of liars, they weren't helpful not even 1% .
We travel almost every 2 months to a different location and this was the only awful hotel we've been to.

Food was also really bad don't try eating there.

We also suggested to take the owner's email but of course they wouldn't give it us, saying that the owner himself is not willing to help us in anyway and this is the hotel policy whether we like it or not.

We spent a week at this hotel recently - to get away from the British rain! We were met at the airport by a private car which quickly took us to,our hotel. This cost extra but well worth it in terms of ease and a bit of luxury as was the return journey. This small hotel is situated in a quiet backwater of Forte de Marmi . We had a superior room on the second floor which was spacious and had twin beds (not unusual for Italy). There was a large balcony overlooking the hotel garden and a private villa garden. It was quiet and we enjoyed using it. Breakfast was continental but there was also bacon and scrambled egg and the usual croissants, cold meats, cheese and pastries. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We dined in a couple of times too and the food was good. If you haven't hired a car - we didn't - then it is a good 20/25 minute walk to the town centre. Also in this area the local people have limited english so either study Italian before you go or don't
forget your phrase book!
Ps the outdoor pool was closed when we were there - it may have been because of the time of year - middle May.

Room Tip: Second floor at the end of the building is quiet and spacious rooms.
