“Better than we expected and was great holiday :D”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2011

I stayed at hotel holiday with leger group. This hotel is better than most hotels we stayed with. It says when your given info about your hotel that you may need take your own towel because the towels may be smaller than usual. But there is no need the towels are a great size. Only little problem was the bath which kind has a step in it and if you have a shower the water may go every where due to no shower curtain. The rooms itself are clean and tidy, there is a tv and closet. We wasnt expecting much so was better than expected. The staff are friendly and the breakfast is what you make of it.
The hotel is in a lovely locaction not in the centre of town and not to far out. The little town of Fiuggi is lovely there is many shops and few places to eat. You may see the locals carrying around flasks, mugs and cups and that is because in the park there is a fountain which they believe has healing qualities, so they keep stocked up on the fountain water to drink.
I personally would love to go back to Fiuggi it is a great base for going to Rome, serrento and pompie and this little town is beautiful. The hotel itself is a great base and has some lovely views and its great place if you want some peace and quiet.

Like others that have reviewed this hotel we arrived as part of a Leger group and we were the only occupants of the hotel. Warning for people with mobility issues the location is at the bottom of the hill and all restaurants/bars are up hill from this hotel. The walls are painfully thin not only could we hear conversations next door we could hear the gentleman opposite snoring. Breakfast was so-so could do with 1) a hotplate to keep the water/coffee hot (which were in stainless steel kettles) and also 2) a toaster. Breakfast was continental type. Our room did not have a bath. We took a travel kettle and the only place we could plug it in (we took an adapter) was on the bed - others in our group did likewise. Hotel has the feel of a lack of investment. Bar was fine as was the lounge

Room Tip: All roooms have shutters - views are of rolling countryside

Went on a Leger Holiday, the Hotel made a very good centre to go to Rome. Serrento and Pompie, the rooms are basic, with beds and bathroom utility, a well run family hotel, with an excellent breakfast, if not much variety and an evening meal, with which the soup (starter) and ice-cream (dessert) was excellent.
The hotel was five to ten minutes from the centre of town, where you could go if you didn't want to eat in.
The only problem we had was sleeping in the heat of the room

This hotel is a family run hotel and it has a pleasant friendly atmosphere. It sits in a very scenic location. You are surrounded by beautiful hills. The room I had was very clean and more than adequate. The bathroom is large with a shower as well as a bath. There is not air conditioning but you can get a fan and there were plenty. The food is home made and reasonable in price. It was quiet but not that far from the town a 10-15 minute walk. I would recommend this hotel for an idyllic peaceful holiday. It has a 3 star rating and certainly deserves it

We were on a Leger Silver Service Holiday and frankly expected a better quality hotel. The staff were pleasant and the breakfast was good, the evening meal was poor quality and very over priced in comparison to meals in the town. The rooms were clean but very basic and the walls were very thin as two of our daughters in the next room were able to tell us exactly what we were doing in our room and what the people above them and next door to them were doing and discussing. The views where very good and the hotel was a short walk from the lovely town and better quality and value food. Not what I call silver service and very sad as the rest of the trip was very good.
The hotel was at the end of a long narrow lane and every night th coach struggled to get to the hotel and on several occassions we had to walk, the first night it took nearly an hour to get it into the hotel partly because it was a silver sevice coach and longer than the average ones, not what you want after a long coach journey.

We stayed as a family of three on a Leger coach holiday common with most other reviews here.
The accommodation - We were a family of three full fee paying adults (despite our daughter being 15) opting for one room.
So what we had, I would suggest was a standard double room with another bed shoe horned into the corner. Which meant it only had a small desk plus two chairs... Why put fitted wardrobes in hotel rooms? Where do you leave three peoples luggage if you can't put them on top of them! They end up just lying around the floor.
We had the usual selection of minor gripes with the room, which we were prepared to live with, see pics, ie exposed pipes in the shower, shower door hanging off, phone socket hanging out, rather primitive concertina door affair on the toilet/shower room, basic TV with remote held together with tape, okay we could live with that.
But when the metal roller blind stuck down (cleaners close them apparently) leaving us in like a darkened cell as no natural light could come in, by day two of it being stuck (and our complaints to the hotel manager had achieving nothing) we complained officially to the drivers and it was repaired the next day. Still...two nights we endured with it stuck down.

Breakfast - very minimalistic: lady serving tea or coffee, no self service, one choice of cereal, one bowl of yoghurt, no fresh fruit, some bread roll things in plastic bags, couple of assorted bread baskets with bread which would have benefited from a toaster, (not provided) ham, cheese, mini jam/honey pots, boiled eggs and that was about your lot!
After the first couple of days your enthusiasm wains about getting to breakfast early once you realise that was it! Come early or late. Even the UK pot noddle in your room starts to look appealing!

Evening meal we didn't bother with, can't comment but for the price, (won't divulge that) but for less you can go down town and have a drink a one course meal, possibly a cheap desert and still come under their price for evening meal. Usually we went down in a group so you can have a look around etc.

Other facilities - well rely can't think of much else, no swimming pool, gym or jacuzzi, there was inside lounge, TV room, sun chairs outside, (overlooking the coach/car park) When the manager was around she would do drinks. But to be honest we did not spend that much time at the hotel.
One thing I will mention on a positive is that how speedily the manageress got her own doctor out to see my wife for insect bites.

General points - the hotel has nice views, reasonably close walking distance to the town, although you are rather taking your life into your hands with the local drivers as there are no pavements for the first part.

In conclusion - the hotel did put a bit of a dampener on the holiday, a nice hotel can just set your holiday off! Unfortunately for a 3 star (not sure who awarded them that, or if they just put it on themselves) this did not live up to expectations. When even the coach drivers had not heard of it, (both experienced guys, who incidentally I could'nt fault) Had to drive around back roads looking for it, this should have rung alarm bells!
Why were they changing hotels(Leger)? I am not going to make any comments here myself, but ask yourself...in today's current economical climate, with rising prices, margins are slimmer, where does one look to cut costs?

our family had three rooms in this hotel. the rooms were spotless, all three rooms faced different directions but the view from our twin room was amazing! the three rooms had different types of bathrooms but all en-suite and with plenty of hot water. The walls were very thin . It was only a short stroll into town - about 10 minutes.
Breakfast was exactly as described by a reviewer above. We found the optional evening meal had a wonderful traditional italian starter, but the main was usually a bit of meat or fish of some kind with chips, boiled potato or what tasted like instant mash one night! there was a choice of two dishes for each course except pudding. i found the food to be too salty at times but that may be my english taste! we ate in town a couple of nights but i must admit we didn't find that much better and after a tiring day it is really handy to have eating at the hotel an option.
the hotel had a nice relaxed and cool feel about it, the meals were always served on time, and the staff were very friendly.
