I returned to Cortina, the undisputed 'jewel in the crown' of the Dolomites, again in Sep 2012. I looked no further than the wonderful Hotel Montana yet again as the best place to stay. I have noticed over the years I have been staying here that familiar faces, from all over the world, keep reappearing year after year in this fantastic hotel. There is a reason for this. The Hotel Montana has an unbeatable location within Cortina. Everything you could need for winter or summer adventure is within 200 metres of the front door!. The rooms are fantastic, unrealistically cheap, and the breakfast is great but again I must say that the best thing about the Montana is the wonderful staff. They are 'locals' so there is not much about the area that they dont know about, and if they dont...they will know someone who does!. During the summer the hotel is frequented by many professional climbers, hikers and via ferraterists who return here year after year. This makes for a fantastic 'networking' opportunity to learn more about the region, its climbs and hikes, as these people are always genuinely helpful if you ask. I have gained invaluable information this way. The reception/lounge area and cozy breakfast room are therefore a wonderful alpine information resource! I have no hesitation in recommending the Montana to anyone wishing to visit one of the most unique alpine regions in the world. I will definately be returning..

A small Meublè in Cortina, excellent location and very warm staff. We stood there for one night only and the rooms are clean and silent (except for the church bells, the hotel is in front of a church)

We stayed in Hotel Montana for one night and had an enjoyable stay. The hotel is well located in the middle of town. You step out the front door and there are the shops and restaurants. Cortina is a stunning town to visit. Unfortunately we had bad weather so could not go up in the cable car, but we looked around town and played chess in the hotel lounge.The hotel rooms are simple but spotlessly clean and the hotel has a homely feel. The staff are friendly and the included breakfast was delicious, served in a cosy breakfast room. Overall, we would highly recommend this hotel. It was great value for the price.

We spent two nights here and found Hotel Montana offered great value and comfort in a perfect setting. I agree with others - park and walk the town. We went out to 5 Torri and took the cable car up over the pass. Amazing views. Our host was most helpful.
