“The cheapest decent non-camping accommodation you'l find in Cortina”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2013

Arrived in cortina after a big multiday walk doing the alta via 2 and climbing via ferratas, went to the tourist info office and they helped me find this hotel as I had no camping gear and was on a budget. 50 euros a night for a single room very clean. About the the cheapest you'l get in chick Cortina.

The lady in the desk as I arrived was awesome, she cleaned the room for me straight away as id had no reservation and was so lovely and friendly just what a weary traveller needs, with minimal Italian (Me) (her, great english). She gave me some nice hook ups to cool places to check out that afternoon an amazing lake nearby and a great restaurant outside that has the best view in town and costs very little. She made my day as id just slept out the night before in a thunderstorm with no sleeping bag just a bivi so I thought d treat my self to a roof and a shower.

The guy at breakfast who served me was bangy and clattery and a bit stressy but apart from that a lovely surprise of a place id recommend for couples family or solo. Clean rooms modern and quite and restful.

We arrived from a road trip from Vienna back into Italian territory. Unsure as to where to stay, after reading up on this quaint little B&B we decided to try it out.
The owner Giovanni was helpful and genuinely friendly from the first moment. He had a good way with joking with our teens, and we felt welcomed and relaxed instantly.
The room (4 people) was set up with 2 single beds, and the kids had a double pull out couch. There was a lovely wrap-around terrace with killer views, and a bathroom that was sufficient for our needs.
We asked and were given directions for an easy, relaxed restaurant for our first night there. Giovanni obligingly gave us his recommendation and we were thoroughly satisfied there.
Next morning, in the breakfast room, it was smiles and first name basis asking us our preferred drink to start the day. the selection was sufficient- not too much of anything, but not lacking in choice either.
My daughter and I had luck that on our first morning that we awoke, there was a local market with a larg(er) selection of items that were of good quality and fair prices
We once again inquired where to go to for our first day- first ever visit to Cortina. An itinerary ad hoc was formulated and we executed it to a T. Pure satisfaction, and awe at the natural beauty that was offered by this jewel of Italy.
We came 'home' tired and had a nap, then back out into the town for another terrific meal that Giovanni had recommended the night before.
I know that if we ever go back to those mountains, we will DEFINATELY stay where we already feel welcome, and at home. You should too!
Bravo Giovanni!

Room Tip: we had room 9, with the wrap-around terrace

The room was small, but adequate, with good bathroom, & very clean. Exceptionally friendly & helpful staff with tourist info, maps etc. A good central location, near restaurants & cafes. It is a well-renovated older hotel.

The hotel is good value for money, in a relatively expensive region. The rooms are not big, but very clean. Breakfast is very good, but sometimes you will have to wait before you can be seated. Room cleaning is excellent, and Wifi is included in the room price. It is a small hotel, but nicely situated near downtows, and between the two major lifts.

We stayed in the wet summer of 2012.

Rooms were good, the bathrooms were better than other hotels of a similar standard that I've seen in Cortina.

The proprietor was friendly. Whoever cleans the rooms during the daytime is amazing- we returned to find that all our socks and shirts had been refolded and put into wardrobes and drawers.

Downsides would be that the car park is a little tight, and as mentioned by others breakfast is a bit dull compared to other places I've stayed.

The hotel is a well maintained older property, recalling a time before Cortina d'Ampezzo became a jet-set resort. It is located in the center of town, close to what used to be the railway station. Our room was clean and inviting, albeit a bit small, the bathroom facilities (shower only) new and of high standards.
We found Giovanni, the hotel's owner, very accommodating and helpful with advice. His breakfast choice is ample and of very good quality, not the least the great coffee he produces from his espresso machine.
All in all great value for money in an otherwise expensive resort!

Top location for both winter and summer, near the center and along convenient roads, just on the pedestrian pathway that crosses Cortina (the "pedonale"). The owner is very welcoming, fun and kind; great breakfast! Recommended also for its low cost. In short, great value for all!
