The location of the hotel is excellent! Just 2 minutes walking to the main restaurants and shops.
Also there is an easy way to the lift Faloria.
The staff is very helpful and sympathetic.
For sure I will stay at Savoia again!

Just returned from six nights Ski holiday here and loved every minute. Position is perfect just off the main pedestrian area of town, set well back from the road with ample parking and garaging. Our room was thoroughly modern with everything you would expect and a lovely marble bathroom. Breakfast was if anything overstaffed (they were busy too) with waiters there for anything you wished for. Full typical five star buffet including some hot items – further specials eg Poached eggs cooked to order. Ground floor rooms and bar were all very modern with various seating areas, piano bar and cigar bar. For skiers there is usual boot room with boot heaters and ski hire all on site. Ski bus picks up and drops off right outside the Hotel, maximum wait 10 minutes. We looked into Spa but alas no time to use with stunning mountains to ski, it looked lovely with pool, gym etc. Cortina you need to spend a few days in to appreciate, very chic with all the ladies (and some men) walking out in their Fur coats especially between 4-30pm and 7-30pm shopping and chatting. The people are just wonderful chattering away at a crazy speed. There are plenty of very smart shops but not Gucci, Prada & Co, more one off Boutiques some deli’s and a big Cooperative department store. Wifi worked great and anything else just ask reception and they will sort it !! To find all this a moments’ walk from the centre made life so easy – we will go back.

If they could they would charge you for the air you breathe I imagine. I was initially shocked that I had to pay at breakfast if I wanted fresh orange juice or bacon.....and also a lot ! Especially strange since my partner had been to the same hotel a week before and then they did not charge it to you....makes me wonder if it was only for the benefit of the foreigners in the hotel that they charged seen that the week before there were more Italians...?? Who knows. The breakfast buffet in general was not up to standard of a 5 star hotel. The dinner menu (we were half board) did not change from the previous week and was not exciting (spaghetti and tomatoe? typical dish of the area?). The buffet was not of a high quality at all.
Do not use their taxi service...costs a fortune. Did not realise it since I simply asked them to book a taxi for me not arrange for the hotel driver....
Bathroom tiny in the room we had the second time around....no value for money...and wifi weak so took ages to do anything on the internet.
Avoid cigar bar in the evening, not much staff around so if you need anything you need to call or go looking for them.

Just returned from Grand Hotel Savoia. The hotel is in an excellent location (as are many others in Cortina) but this hotel is not a 5 star by any means. The hotel is woefully understaffed and the handful of staff who are available are not up to 5 star standards in terms of quality of service - their knowledge is lacking (Eg, the concierge has 3 restaurant recommendations - that's it. The hotel staff did not have an easy available schedule of bus transportation to the slopes and were not even aware that buses were not yet running to one of the main skiing points in Cortina). Beyond these 2 anecdotal examples, the staff are just not properly trained on what hotel guests at 5 star hotels expect in terms of level of service.
Service aside, the romms were tiny, the beds were exceptionally uncomfortable with the hardest mattresses and pillows I have ever slept on in my life.
Cortina itself is wonderful but there is absolutely no reason whatsoever that I would pay the premium to stay at this hotel over any other more affordable hotels in Cortina. Staying at 5 star hotels is one of the few indulgences that I thoroughly enjoy and this particular hotel isn't even close to a 5 star hotel experience.

We just had an onforgetable week in THE show... Rooms are as my title: stylisch and classy...
Service provided allover THE hotel was outstanding... Food excellent... Bars for drinks cosy ...
Central location...
Very good choice for à Nice hotel in Cortina. THE wifi was not hè quickest one, but it's ok... Since we used THE 3/4G funktion....
We had à suite and for our boy (6 yrs) and his nanny we hired THE Hotwheels suite... And hè loved it ... For THE girls There is also à Barbie suite... Very pinkyyyy....
Anyway, à very good/commercial concept... For Fam. Travelling with little kid(s)!

Room Tip: Suites are very comfy and for THE littles ones.. Either Barbie or Hotwheels suite, kids would love...

We spend a week at the Grand Hotel Savoia just before Christmas. The hotel was very quite. The service from the staff, especially the service at breakfast, was outstanding. Very seldom did we experience service like this in a hotel. Not sure, if they can deliver the same service during high season, when the hotel is full.

The only complaint re. service we had was at the Spa of the hotel. The staff running the Spa were not very friendly. Further, your kids under 16 can only use the swimming pool in the Spa until 17h00, which is a bit of an inconvenience considering one is only leaving the ski slopes around 16h00. Even during pre-season with hardly anybody using the Spa our kids had to leave the pool before 17h00. We understand that the Spa does not belong to the hotel and is managed by an outside company.

The hotel is very modern. If won't be the place for you, if you are looking for a cosy Alpine style hotel.

Rooms nice,
Food excellent, great breakfast,
Concierge very help full.
Absolutely the worst WIFi of any 5 star hotel!!!
Poor coverage with a separate network in the ballroom and general area.
Front desk staff almost rude when ask what's wrong with their WIFI.
Owner must be out of touch with what frequent travelers expect today.
GM nice but handcuffed, they spend a lot of money on their property, but miss the fine details.
